Thank you Barb.
I have make some adjustment today. I moved the tank away from the window because the water is at 86 yesterday even with my constant ice pack treatment. I still keep that in the same room but move that to the corner. The temp is about 80-82 today. Coral looks much better and ployps start opening up.
With the move, I have added an extra LED strip for lumination. Now I have one for the Mangroves, one actinic for the color and the new LED strip for main lumination.
Last visit to the LFS, they got a bunch of red spot cardinal. When I look closer to the tank, they are all sold. I managed to talk to the owner to sell me a couple. They are almost like the freshwater Tetra but is a great schooling fish. I will get ten for my DT but 2 is great for the 4Gallon
Thank you. The setting was using natural light. However, I have moved my tank away from the window because of the extreme heat.
I have one of this PAR38 sitting around so I set this up with a Wal-mart darft lamp. This PAR38 has 8 blue, 1 magenta, 1 UV and 2 white. The casting is a bit too red so I match it with a 9W blue actinic LED strip. Here is the bulb.
Time for update:
I decided to move the mangroved out of the AquaClear compartment because the roots does not have room to grow. I will account them as my expenses since the are now part of the tank. I also move to full blown LEDs, 1 PAR38 with blue and one, 1 PAR 38 with multi color LEDs. I added one more neon gobbie and one ugly lawnmower blenny (not sure the sciencetific name). I moved my Swiss guard back to my 180DT but was beaten badly by another fish. I managed to catch him and take him back to my pico. I think he was still shell shock so he is not eating the whole day. I have added a few Acro frag from my DT which was dying and browned out. Surprisingly, they start opening up in this tank. I also added a cheap fans to cool down the water. The water is first ever under 80. The main issue now is algae control. I can't add too many snail because of the size of my tank and it will simply knock everything over. I hope the blenny can start cleaning up a some of the overgrow.
Here are some updated picture:
Xenia
Browned out Acro frag but polyps start coming back
Neo gobbie and Clove ployps
Although I have bought nothing from the store so far. All coral are came from my DT. The rules are to apply fair market value to them. Here are my running total of coral as of now:
Looking good, and sounds like you have finally had a bit of a break in the temp. Looking foward to seeing things growout. Hope your swiss guard gets over his shock poor thing.
Thank you Barb. Yeah for sure the temp thing is bothering me. I hope I can move the tank by the window when the temp get cooler in Sept. One good thing of having a 4Gal that I can can slid the whole unit to different location without problem.
The tank is looking good and I am with Mallorie - that neon goby is just too cute! We have one in our display and he loves to give me a good cleaning when my hands (and arms) are in the tank, LOL.
