Eric's 300Gal Build!

The tank is looking good!! Thanks for updating! :)
Thank you!! & you're welcome.

SUPER nice! Very cool to see as a newb to the hobby! I only pray my tank is remotely close to this in the coming months!

Thanks!! How big is your tank? All I can say is take your time planning everything. Nothing good comes out of rushing things in this hobby.

Thank you & about the apex I love it. There are some many things you can have it do that just that is just simply amazing. If its in your budget I would recommend you get it.

Do you have the APEX Gold?

No. I bought the Apex w/ Lab Grade pH Probe, additionally I purchased an additional lab grade pH probe for my calcium reactor, a breakout box for float switches and a LMS module with 4 lED's. I don't really need a conductivity probe & PM2 module which is the only two things the gold version has that the standard apex with lab grade pH probe does not have. I might buy it down the road but for now I don't really have a need for it.

Wow awesome build! I see you made the coast to coast overflow out of glass did you cut fins in the black acrylic to block fish from getting in? I want to do the same on my future 180 build

No I did not make any cuts in the acrylic… Overtime those gaps get covered with algae and it will create more work for me and the smooth straight surface creates better surface skimming. For a fish to go over the overflow will have to be really small and I don't really have that many small fish in there.

Great tank man. Could you show us some pictures of the final apex setup and how you kept all the cables neat? I need to do something similar with my fish room and want ideas on cable management. I was planning a board similar to yours, but havent decided how I want to mount it to the wall. I want some sort of hinge system so its easy to access the back and cords when needed.

Sorry for the lack of updates guys but work is keeping me busy and don't have much time but the tank is doing great so far… I took a quick video today of the fish attacking the nori, hope you guys enjoy it. I should have some free time in a week so I will be taking some more detailed pictures and sharing them with everyone here.

I will get you those pictures in a few days.. The board is mounted on the right side of the stand which I have an access door on the back side to be able to reach the cables.

Awesome build! Seems everyone on here, but me, is either or both a carpenter or a electrician. Lol.

Thank you! In this hobby you learn a lot of things that aren't necessarily related to reefkeeping.

Great tank and I love all the fish!
