81.2 in SoCal. I didn’t run the AC in the room and my little fan couldn’t keep up

Chicago weather is terrible , can be 82 degrees outside one day and 57 the next . That’s why my temp graph looks like this

78 - are some of you not using air conditioning (and letting the tank temp rise and fall with outside temp)? The outside temp was 93 I think

I often let the tank rise and fall by as much as 2- 3 degrees , never seen any adverse effects from it so far

I do. My tank has been fluctuating between 79 and 85. No ill effects seen. It's like this every summer.

I used to keep my tank at 82 year round since its actually closer to the actual temp in most 'reefs' - but I read that it speeds up bacteria growth and parasite growth - so I dropped it to 78-79

I don't have ac, I live in the Caribbean and I just open the windows because there is an almost constant breeze.

Lucky you. In Jamaica it's hot as hell right now. I struggle with fans to stay under 83 in the evening.

My tank hit it's maximum temperature of 79.2ºF (26.2ºC) here in Columbus, Ohio. That's also the highest that my tank has seen since I started it. I have been keeping my windows open to help my carbon dioxide scrubber raise my system's pH (which is up to 8.5 today).

80.1 in Surprise AZ. Outside temp was up to 112 Wed and Thu. We keep the house at 78, and I run fans over the top of the tank as well as in the sump. No chiller.

I live up in the hills so it's pretty nice here! At sea level it's brutal though!

Which island are you? Man I'm here on the flats about 20 minutes from the sea. Even the sea is warm at this point.

For the first time in a long time I am concerned with the temp in my reef.
I went back to T5's last fall from Radions.
The temp outside the other day was 93 and my tank went up to 82.4.
That is the warmest it's been been in probably close to 20 years.
Before my Radions, I had mh and vho lighting, but had a chiller.
Time to order a fan or 2 from amazon.
