I do not have a date yet as to when the upper limit of the Total Hardness test will be high enough for magnesium levels in reef tanks. We are currently working on the chemistry in our research laboratory and as soon as it is available it will be pushed through the app on the next update.

As I get more use to it the more I like it so far. The number one reason for me buying it was for my main three cal alk and mag so far cal and alk been on point. Waiting on them to fix the mag issue po4 and no3 also on point. Also love that I can run test after test then hit results and get all my readings on one page.

Chris, are there any plans to be able to lower the range for Nitrate? Right now I'm getting 15 which is according to the chart the lowest it measures. What happens when it is lower will we see a LO or just a not as accurate measurement?

He mentions in the video about Nitrate, IIRC getting a lower range is on the to-do list.

Indoor lighting is soft enough to not affect the results. If anyone is testing outdoors in direct sunlight we do suggest using the cap to cover the cell.

The upper limit of our basic pH test is 8.3 if your pH is likely higher than that we do have a test that utilizes a bromothymol-blue indicator instead of phenol-red indicator. The bromothymol indicator could read as high as a pH of 10 but you sacrifice resolution. Do you all think that is something reef hobbyists would be more interested in?

Just got my idip this evening and downloaded program and ran my first tests. The alkalinity matched my hanna checker to the ppm, now of course I understand both have +/- errors but this was nice to have it be virtually the same. Nitrate I got the "15" which others have said is their lower limit so far.

C'mon Sensafe (idip), get us in reef range. Need a number better than 15 as the lower limit for nitrate and it took about 7 minutes of a countdown to get it. But the testing of both nitrate and alkalinity were so darn easy to do. Much easier than trying to read a color change and much easier than making sure that test tube is super clean for the Hanna checker. Too late to run the calcium test tonight, I'll save that test for another time.

Overall impression, fast and easy. Still need to confirm that it is accurate and reliable. I sure hope it is because it is quick and simple. Plus love the fact that this will create a log, history, of all your tests by date. Record keeping and tracking changes may just become super easy. But again, need to confirm accuracy and reliability. Initial thoughts, wow.

Many people have pH values in the 8.3-8.5 range, especially if they use limewater (kalkwasser), so some people might want it if they otherwise want your device, but for pH alone folks would likely be best served by a pH meter.

I appreciate all the comments, perhaps the best thing about the iDip is now that you have the device you have unlimited possibilities for upgrade without buying a new instrument. If the calculations were burned on a chip and not through an app we wouldn't be able to get better detection limits without building a new device.

I would like to assure everyone that we are working on getting all of the tests to be more accurate with better resolution.
