After the water change the hitchhikers were out and about!

some crazy rose snail that kills everything….

and a sea apple! Who knows what else is in there.

Grabbed a couple corals today from a LFS to see how things do.

I got

a nice little digi. A nice octospawn. And a little 2 head torch from the budget b

but I’m happy with how well everything opened up! The octospawn was deflated and sad at the LFS and just after an hour in the tank it opened right up!

torch was tiny to begin with but looks good!

SPS has never been my thing. But I do love digis and Millies so I wanted to see how this digi faired before I go full go.

Everything is still looking good!

algae is still around but it’s fading away.

my brittle star is roaming around though so I’m not sure if that is good or bad. Maybe I should hand feed it?

yes I love sharing my fascination with reefing with my kids. everything from the tiny little snails to the big fish.

It also helps that they love it because then my wife can't complain... (out loud) lol

This octospawn is doing awesome. Nice green and purple tips. Very excited to be getting corals going in the tank.

the torch is funny as well. It’s doing great but the tentacles are short.

Added a couple things

flame angel (my wife’s favorite)

Picasso Trigger (Humu Humu) one of my absolute favorite fish

snowflake eel! Now I know the risk here. Just need to keep him fat and happy and he should leave everything alone.

also the trigger and the angel have been sizing eachother up. Pretty funny.

Updated tank shot.

Everything is looking really good and algae bloom has thankfully gone away on the rocks. Still getting some in the sand but it seems to be less and less each day.

I also notice that it’s hard to see what the actually structure of the rocks is in my FTS but there is actually a lot of depth to it with tons of caves and hiding places.

I want to add some macro algae and have been looking into that. I ordered some dragons breathe from @TopShelfAquatics that should be coming with some corals!
