Did another water change today. I now have a brute and water pump coming from Amazon to mix water… lol the 5 gallon bucket just isnt cutting.

I do about 20 gallons each time

I feel like I’m being paranoid…

my flame angel is hiding today which is out of character. Only had him about a week.

it is eating just fine today too.

maybe a little heavy breathing but not sure.

water parameter are good. (I don’t have exact number I just bought a new test kit on Amazon and just have the sticks.)

but everything is 0 except maybe a tiny bit of nitrates.

Am I just being crazy??

I also got a peppermint shrimp to see how a shrimp does in the tank with the humu Humu trigger.

If I can sneak it in there it should be fine

he definitely thinks anything that goes into the tank is food

but once it’s in there he leaves it alone

the shrimp picked a great spot!

Silly angel fish keeps trying to get the peppermint shrimp to clean him

guess I need to get a cleaner shrimp

Alright I need some advice!

I need to make upgrades to my tank but I only have so much money. So what is my most important upgrade at this time in your opinion

EQUIPMENT
- 90 gallon corner tank (95ish with filter)
- FX5 canister filter ( I want to upgrade to a sump)
-(2) Current USA Orbit Marine LED Loop
- 100g heater
- filter output is my only flow
- well water ( I use water condintioners to neutralize anything in the water as best as possible)

FISH
- (2) snowflake clownfish
- (2) Black Occ clownfish
- Orchid Dottyback
- flame angelfish
- Picasso Trigger
- snowflake eel

FEEDING
unfortunately I believe I feed to much and the eel and trigger are very messy.

CORALS
Corals are doing well and fully open. I have a torch. Octospawn. Green digi. Echinata frag.

WANTS
- sump
- powerhead for current marine
- RO system
- more light?
- total parameter monitoring system
- anything I’m missing?!?

Through some very helpful members I was able to figure out a good path of what I need.

I tend to get wrapped up in trying to get the best of the best but someone reminded me you can still have a very successful reef without the top dollars items

that being said I purchased an RODI and a powerhead!!

I think I am going to redo the rock in my sandbed to open up more sand bed. stand by for updates tomorrow

I ended up moving a few rocks around to open up some sandbed.

also did a 30 gallon water change with my new brute and pump set up. It worked great!

I’ll do another one after the RO comes in next week and hopefully I can back off a little on the changes.

My Flame Angel died

I found it dead this morning. you may have seen my thread from today trying to figure out what happened.

but after that thread it seems like I really need to set up a QT tank

so I am looking into doing that!

main thing here is I just need to slow down and enjoy the process. I have definitely jumped the gun on some things and learning from that.
