Actually BPC is no longer sponsor here at R2R. Just a FYI.

for what its worth...don't know if its the same coral or not...but i saw a "flamethrower favia" colony in real life and it looked pretty much like that. I have a frag from the colony I saw and my frag is pretty much brown, but i'm sure thats because of my tank. and now that I think about it...i don't know where that frag even is...urgh I hate when this happens!

just found my frag...thank god...

and i saw one like the picture. obviously thats photoshopped...but the one I saw wasn't too far off. basically...if i bought this picture and recieved what I saw in real life I would NOT be mad. maybe these just turned brown from shock? I dunno. I'm not a favia guy!

the seller contacted me and has promised to send me a new picture of the colony without any photoshopping. i will let you know how it goes. he has also said he wants me to be happy and will make it right.

thanks everyone for the responses - i will let you know the outcome.

Thats horrible i think you should post who sold that to you so no one else gets screwed

Who sold it to you i think we should know.

The seller is a good guy and I know he will make it right.

weather he makes it right now is not the point, the point is selling a coral that has been mis-represeted, quite intentionaly, we should be made aware of the offender.

If the seller has agreed to make the situation right, there's no need to put him on blast...

I agree. It's none of our business if the seller makes it right. I would say this for anyone or any business. I have no idea who the seller was either.

If he makes it right or not, it does not change what has been done. In a hoby like this alot is left up to trust ie linage, color, size all this can easly be misinterpreted (sp) over a photo. You spend good money on coral and we should not put the seller on blast persay but be aware, and if he does make it right that is great. atleast we know he might learn from this and might "alter" a pic to look more real. But like i said trust is everything in the hobby.. Because even when you look at wwc can he prove everysingle one of his tyree peices are tyree? does he have proof one every single piece? No most likly not but WWC is personaly one of my fav places to order from cause i trust him and what he does. When he says it's tyree i can take his word. Now i know alot of venders that i would second guess them they just throw a name out there like ATL or Tyree knowing it will sell it.

Just so everyone knows it was me who sold him the frags...In my defense i never actually posted these frags for sale at all so for someone to say i altered pictures with the sole intensions to rip someone of is out of line... First of i dont even know the first thing about taking pictures as most people here that know me know.. second off this coral look pretty close to the picture although the picture was photoshopped. when the coral came in i practically had to fight off a couple of collectors who wanted to get there hands on this coral and i paid a hefty price tag on most of the colony. i at no point posted it for sale but instead i gave a few frags away and sold a couple locally at 2 eyes for 50 dollars. most people who purchased the frags did so in person and did so because they saw the mother colony. i wanted to show people here the colony so i had a friend take a pic of it send it to me and posted it just like many people do here on this forum with no intention of selling it. i also fragged a couple and put them in different tanks. the favia since has changed a little depending on which tank it was in. The buyer pm,d me asking me to sell him 3 frags so i did. maybe i should have told him it look less like the picture now but i have done it with many people that have pm,d me for it and people here know who it is.where i have told them is not as bright as it use to be. i could have just let this go as is but considering i have a pretty good reputation and didnt like an unhappy buyer i was willing to work something out with him so he wasnt unhappy. most people here dont have any idea how this went down and still want to give there opinion while missing some facts. This matter should be left up to the buyer and i. and by the way this wasnt sold as BPC flamethrower favia. someone might be confusing it with the chalice. it was just the flamethrower favia with no ties to BPC.
