So I didn't notice this before as my fire fish hides a lot but I noticed white specks on my fire fish. I did just stir my sand bed up a bit so it might be debris. I want to be sure though. He hasn't been acting strange at all lately. He has always occasionally swam against the current and I know that is a sign of brook. But yea specks all over his face and some on his pectoral fins and body.

Here's a picture not so great but u can see some specks not all of them

Since you said you just stirred the sand bed, give it a few hours and check him over again. If all (or even most) of the white specks are gone, it was just sand. Which is what I think it is.

After all the yrs and all the study's can't believe that they still can't kick ick with anything but copper ridiculous right. Their overpaid lol

Okay I will wait 3 hrs and check right before I hit the bed. Good thing is for Christmas I got a QT and was about to mix some water and fill it up so I could drop him in there tomorrow if it is ick. Also put the net in so he could get use to it.

There's not enough money to be made developing a vaccine for ich. Saltwater aquarium fish are just a drop in the bucket. If it ever happens, it will be to benefit the aquafarming industry. We will just be unwitting beneficiaries.

Exactly

Those dots don't look like debris to be honest we will see tho. I should stop look at him haha makes me feel like I am seeing more specks.

Well dang.. That sucks on both counts!

Specks are spreading on his body rapidly look like this morning he has a lot more looks really sad. So is this ich or something else??

Ok. I'm sorry if we already knew any of this but.... How long have you had him? Ever QT your fish? Was this one was Qt'd? Have you been able to find another QT or fix your current one?

I am going to go to petco after school today to get one. The water has been circulating and heating in a 5 gallon bucket at home. I have had him for I want to say 3 weeks some where around there. I got him when I didn't have a qt so he wasn't qted. I am going to qt all my fish in the future so no I have never qted a fish.
