Fire fish has ich??

U think leave him be?

Were you planning on treating just him or all your fish? If just him, I'd leave him in the DT as he will just get reinfected upon reintroduction into the DT. But if you wanted to take this opportunity to rid your tank of ich by QT'ing/treating ALL of your fish and going fallow, I'd say do it. :)

He's the only fish so looks like he's staying there for now...he's hiding rn and I can't find him. Usually he hides in one spot.

He seems fine no more white spots for the past day.

Probably ich then, as the trophonts will fall off the fish after 3-7 days to continue their life cycle.

With only one fish I'd do one of the below.

A- Run hypo-salinity in the display tank if you don't have any inverts/corals in there.

B- Pull him then treat with copper and run the display tank fallow for 76 days.

C- Pull him, then tank transfer him using 5- gallon buckets, then observe in QT while display tank remains fallow for 76 days.

Okay so i will order the new qt tank today should I pull him out now or wait till the tank comes? Do I have that time? Also will the dots return? He is also still eating a lot.

If I'm you I go option C. Start by reading this https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/spars-tank-transfer-method.209690/ Then gather the materials needed. I'd cover with cheap plastic window screening to prevent jumping out of the 5gal buckets. Remember you don't have to fill the buckets all the way up. One Firefish will do fine with 3gal of water for 72 hours. Just remember to test the water and add the appropriate amount of Prime or another ammonia reducer on day 2 of each transfer if needed. You can get a head start on the transfers while the new QT is in transit.

The white spots will certainly return, with a vengeance. Think about it like this. You witnessed visible wave 1. Those jerks have jumped off and are multiplying like crazy right now. Somewhere between 3-28 days those things are going to be hungry for another host AKA any fish in your tank. They'll keep repeating this cycle until your fish is dead.

Okay umm would it be easier to qt him then treat with copper? I can't throw away air stones and get new ones like that and the amount of water and salt I will cut through with that process.

If it's too much work/money to do TTM then copper is the next choice or hypo, but that carries is own burden in that the salinity must stay at (if memory serves) 1.009, if it goes above you must start the clock over again. I also think there have been reports of a known strain that can tolerate that salinity and thus not effective.

Air stones, air tubing, and 12 gallons of salt mix will be cheaper than Cupramine and a copper test kit.
