Just finished reading your build thread and checking out the 150 as well. Very nice (all of it)!!! I can't wait to see it complete

Oh and I used to live in the DFW, El Paso and San Antonio areas of Texas for about 20 years combined. Gotta love Tx for it's saltwater stores for sure!

Some progress...

Spent all weekend, painting, tweaking, and remounting anything that was a little off by my standards... Added what I'm calling a PVC power-head to the 100-gallon trough.

The holes are on opposite sides of the PVC runs, should help to keep the water circulating due to the trough rounded ends.

Closet door, check... The exhaust fan is in the closet so a vented (louvered) door was a must.

Dry rock arriving this weekend time to aquascape.

I cut a hole in my solid door and fitted a floor vent in place at the bottom since my ventilation fan is up top it draws the air all the way across the closet. I'm curious if this type door would be better? Let more air exchange between humidity switch being activated.

When I had all the tanks filled, tap water and vinegar (7-gallons) cleaning the system out, the humidity was set to 45 and it would stay on 3 or 4 hours at most... seemed to do the job (help to get that vinegar smell out also). Door was cheap at Lowe's for under $60 too.

Interesting, I have mine set to come on at 70percent off at 40percent. It only runs for about 15minutes at a time. Is yours venting room outside of closet I take it?

yes Sir. the fan is a big 12" fan used to vent heat out of server cabinets so a lot of CFM (wish i new how much but the label came off) it's in a sealed box with two dryer ports on the outside...

After PMing with Reef Junky (thank you for all the insight) I got to do a little digging and found the CFM on the fan I'm using... the fan is rated at 550cfm, most bathroom exhaust fan like the ones at home depot are under 100cfm, I found one that was around 300cfm, so I think the one I have should be able to handle the humidity but, still need to vent in a additional "clean air" louvered door pre-fish tank room... but that should cover it... thanks again Reef Junky!

Oh ok now I understand better. If you ever need more cfm and have 120volts look into a bathroom vent fan. They move a lot of air and can be had for less than $20.00 on sale. Keep up the good work, looking good!
