It's time for some Tuesday Sharing!

ADVICE! People love to give advice and voice opinions. They say opinions are like, well you know, and everyone has one. In this hobby people have lots of well intended opinions. Opinions and facts are two different things though. A fact is a statement that is consistent with reality or can be proven with evidence. The usual test for a statement of fact is verifiability. One FACT we can all agree on is that it is wise to "take it slow" in this hobby. With that peace of advice already stated let's talk about some other things that have helped you personally in this hobby.

What advice or fact has been a game changer for you and how so?

Raise my nitrates and phosphates was the best advise to date... I was trying ULNS and it was taking the fun out of it for me....

Thanks for sharing! What has the result been?

Don't believe everything you read on forums

Honestly, and although it seems like a broken record... "Take it slow, nothing happens fast". This is by far the best advice I have been given, over and over again but did not take seriously until about 6 months in. If I never learned the importance of patience in this hobby I would have quit by now.

Keep the advice coming!!

This was the best advice I was ever given.

When it comes to fish, NEVER EVER EVER impulse buy. Know your tank and know what you want. Research research research, create a stocking list including the order they should be added and stick to it!

This does not mean you can’t make substitutions but it does mean that subs should be part of your stocking list. Let’s say you want a firefish and you go to the store and they have purple firefish on sale you can certainly decide you would rather have a purple instead. It’s not always easy but I promise it will make your tank better in the end.
