If @Bulk Reef Supply does read this, then please be aware that I will be extremely annoyed if these sales are completed.
Why would you be annoyed if the sales are completed? Because you didn't jump on them and order during a state of confusion? Let me ask you this, if your local best buy misprinted an item at $40.00 instead of $400.00 and they sold a bunch of them before catching the mistake, or they just went ahead with it, would you be just as annoyed? I don't understand how this affects you other than you not capitalizing on it...

So will all the people that bought these products a few days ago at full price!

And this is my point. The sooner the company speaks up and corrects the situation, the sooner things can go back to normal. Otherwise the bantering continues.

Lol. FishyFishy….I know this is gonna start crap and I’m Not trying to get anyone mad but you wouldve been ok with it if you purchased one and got it? But morally you didn’t so you shake a finger at those who did buy?

Not trying to get personal but it comes across as if these people get it even if it was a mistake I’m gonna stomp my foot and be mad.

Say for a moment, BRS decided to help out a bunch of reefers by sending them out, regardless of it being a mistake. They are a great company and have given away things before.
This would annoy you, to see other hobbyists have the orders they placed fulfilled?

Because they would then be rewarding those who jumped on the (obvious) mistake at the expense of those who acknowledged it was a mistake and didn't place an order.

I'm not against those who did place an order; I was seriously tempted myself. But if BRS think that by shipping them out anyway that this will be an expensive but simple way to resolve the situation, then it won't work. As I stated earlier - BRS can't win out of this.

I'm sure they are clever enough to realise this and I still don't think it is going to happen. I wouldn't want to be the person who updated the prices though!

Why?

You already don't care for BRS. You've stated that multiple times in numerous threads. You even think it's okay to screw them over because they're "big business" and big business should be screwed.

It didn't come at your, or their expense though... The only person you have to be upset with is yourself...

Try>fail>no problem
Don't try>Goes through>Upset

What!?

I think BRS can make this a win/win by doing the right thing quickly.

Recognize the mistake, sincerely apologize, cancel the sales, and offer a nice gift card to those whose sales were canceled.

Now - That wasn’t too bad.

BRS used to be Ryan, Randy etc and that is what made them good. BRS is no longer Ryan, Randy etc IMO (yes, they are still there, but who is really directing proceedings?). Just because I have lost interest in BRS, doesn't mean that I can't (or don't) respect the individuals who built it up as a company.

Is this a bit like the bogus insurance claims argument? Insurance companies have lots of money so putting in a false claim doesn't hurt anyone? Or is it ok to steal from Walmart as long as you don't steal from a local independent grocery store?
Not at all those all are illegal I don’t condone any of that!

But if Walmart messes up and puts a tv on sale for $9 or even $99 because they forgot the extra numbers you can bet I’ll talk to management if they try and get the “correct price”

If you are asking if I would be annoyed if they gave out things in an uncontrolled and haphazard fashion, with no real plan or control then, yes, that would annoy me. In fact the last giveway, which was run in exactly that fashion, is the reason that I primarily now shop elsewhere.

Why?

If you look back through my posts then you will see that I have specifically said that I don't think businesses should be screwed (which is why I didn't place an order when I saw the cleary incorrect prices). I did say that I didn't care if it happened to BRS; not because they are a big business but because I think it would be karma.

except that the pricing has already gone back to normal for the products in question

Well sure, the poor web guy probably got a text from Ryan or whomever and had to hop on his laptop and change the prices back quick, but it's not like the executives are going to call an emergency meeting about it.

I can not imagine being annoyed about the way a company goes about giving FREE things away, like the last giveaway. I personally thought it was great and a nice thing to do over the holidays, not to mention the 10 dollar cards are useful when you use a lot of maintenance equipment. Quite a few people were fortunate enough to have their cards replaced with other items as well.
I am sorry you don't like BRS, but I do, and I think a lot of other people do as well.

That is a completely different scenario! I’m not for taking from anyone personally like this. I’ve actually brought up to mistakes in prices in this forum and other to sellers on OfferUp etc. but I’m very against big businesses that have for decades been helped by the government while there are many people who have it much worse and have very little if any help.

It starts to hurt real people when the company cannot sustain the accident. Yeah they might lose a couple thousands of dollar if they let this slide but how much do they make profit per year and also some people in this world if they bought these items on sale and the transaction gets cancel they will not shop BRS anymore so therefore they lose out on future profit. I’m not saying it’s okay to go looking/creating these accidents but at what part is it on the company to hold its self responsible?

This country has helped big businesses way to much and they instead need to focus on small businesses

Sucks being at work I wish I was to date with this thread to response faster. I’m off at 5 though lol
so you are ok 'sticking it to the man' but they are not allowed to stick it to you. Just trying to understand perspective and motivation. You seem very adament that you would go to management to get the right price..but when you are the one on the wrong end of the equation it is different.

I’m on the other end of the equation most of the time and so is 90% of the country.

Where did I ever say it’s different if I’m on the other side by the way?

It funny how all you have to do is dig up a little of ones past here in print to find what a person truly stands for. LOL. I can tell you what has come out of this thread

1.For anyone who ordered last night, You got a great deal, **** happens all the time. Hell, they just gave away $500,000 worth of stuff. At least they got a little cash for these items. im happy for you. I at least know where you stand. (Either in front of me or beside)

2. If you say you didnt order due to your morals........LOL....Im guessing you are the guy driving the bus with the bobble head jesus on the Dash. Please be gentle as you throw us under...

I really don't understand all the hate for BRS anymore. They used to be the go to place for reefing related gear.

Just because they bough out marinedepot, who if they didn't sell would have been shutting their doors anyways.
I think it's because it's not BRS anymore, it's controlled by a company that knows little to nothing about reefing. And people naturally have an issue with a situation like this. It's the whole "Big corporate" mentality being pushed into a niche hobby retail leader. Most people don't like the idea in general.

I am also confused as to why people keep Saying BRS bought out Neptune and Ecotech. They never did. They don't own either company. Bertrem does.
