No, they are not the only resource for Neptune. BRS can only sell so many units. I feel Neptune and Ecotech will still fully fulfill their service agreements with the consumer with no issue. BRS is still BRS, Neptune is still Neptune, and Ecotech is still Ecotech, that has not changed. They are simply owned by a acquisition group.
I didn’t realize someone else stateside sold GHL. my apologies.

Nobody needs to vilify BRS. If you don't like them, then too bad. Buy from someone else if it makes you feel better about yourself. brs continues to be a great company to do business with. I have numerous orders this past year that needed customer service. No questions asked, replacements sent and arrived in a few days. Can't speak better about a company.

@rtparty, I agree that they have a very small presence here. My real question (just for conversation sake, as I have Neptune products) is with BRS being the “only“ stateside resource for them. What does that do for service issues and such. I know it’s not up to BRS to keep someone in business or be their CS support but from a consumer’s point of view, it is nice knowing you can reach out to BRS and get a timely response due to similar holidays, time zone etc.

BRS does not own Neptune and BRS isn't running Neptune. They are still separate companies. They are under the same umbrella is all. Same with Ecotech

I was going to say the same thing. It is easy to vilify a big, successful company and justify any action against them just because they have more. Because of this logic, I used to have the tag line of 'If at first you dont succeed, blame someone who was successful'

Not sure if people remember, but BRS was a small company just a few years ago.

In all reality, BRS is still relatively small in the scheme of things. They might be big in our hobby, but they're small in the business world.

I personally don't get the hate for them at all but people hate success.

The longer BRS takes to resolve this issue, the more customer confusion! Customer confusion is not good for a brand!

If they made a mistake, admit it, apologize, and move in.

I know BRS doesn’t own them. That’s is not what I’m asking. I’m only asking if BRS is really discontinuing the line (which is for entertainment ONLY right now as we don’t know) then where do people go for customer support of their product. I also know it is not the job of BRS to keep others in business etc. I’m only saying it would be a shame if their customer support aspect to that product was gone for all those that do own GHL products. That is ALL I have been saying. Nothing about who owns who or what.

No apology needed, other vendors do sell it, but, they do not have the presence of BRS. I do wish @Premiumaq @premiumaquatics , and @SaltwaterAq would carry more though. I also wish that LFS's would carry GHL products. @Vinny@GHLUSA
Thanks! I didn’t know that as I never really looked into GHL products and it also shows I don’t buy much reef stuff online outside of fish. if there are other sources then that is relieving for those that have the product.

Presumably GHL USA would be a good place to start for customer support of GHL products ;)

If this was a clearance then it would have been listed in the clearance section of the website and all GHL products would have been discounted. Despite the conspiracy theories about discontinuing GHL and those still hopeful that it was a genuine sale, it is pretty clear that this was just a mistake. If it was genuine, then why were they listing some items way above retail price?

I have seen the same thing happen on the BRS site before.

@FishyFishFish, touché on that. Again and even more clearly…..I don’t own GHL products! Lol. I didn’t even know they had a stateside operation. Thanks for pointing that out but man you could have told me that 8 pages ago and saved me embarrassment! And confusion:eek:
kidding, actually I said it earlier that it’s just speculation and conspiracy theory but most likely just a mistake that will get solved one way or another! The anticipation of the outcome is the best part!!

It was a mistake. BRS knows and fixed the issue.

It is Saturday and New Year's Day. BRS isn't even open.

The only thing I don't know is if they plan to ship everything or cancel orders. We won't know that today if I had to guess. Again, I believe all BRS employees are off for the day and they aren't monitoring R2R on their day off

I do want to commend everyone. I know I brought everyone down a dangerous, potentially political path with my morality comment. The dialog and level of discourse has been pretty awesome. Nothing got personal. People that disagreed on some areas, agreed on others. Really good debate!!

Is BRS making sales today, New Years Day? If they are making sales, then someone has to be manning the shop. Maybe reduced staff but I guarantee you that management knows what has happened by now.

The longer they take to respond to their customers, the more confusion for their customers and the more bantering on this site.

They aren't open weekends and it's a holiday, I wouldn't expect anything to be resolved until Monday at the earliest.

It's all automated. They may have a couple CS staff on site but not many. They aren't boxing and shipping anything today. Adam and Randy are the two usually here on R2R. Neither are working today

I know management knows. That's not a question for me. I know who knows and who fixed it.

Lol, sure, their website continues to take orders during non-business hours just like everyone else's. This isn't some emergency, all hands on deck type situation. It was a website error that I'm sure Ryan will have to make a call on on Monday to decide how to resolve.

except that the pricing has already gone back to normal for the products in question

If @Bulk Reef Supply does read this, then please be aware that I will be extremely annoyed if these sales are completed.
