Really? People placing an order for a good deal (regardless if in error) makes you question humanity?

This goes right back to the old "Bag of Money" Question. You find a bag of US Backed Unregistered Goverment Bonds in the ground when you are digging up the ground in your parents back yard of a home they have owned for 70 years. Its definitely not yours or theirs and it must have been buried a century ago.

You just bring it to the police station right...its not yours.....Right...lol?

I would say we need a survey buy everybody is honest.........until

Yes. It does. When people are willing to take advantage of an obvious mistake at the detriment of the person who made the mistake..yes..it does.

To the next question on your bag of bonds...if you decide to keep it, do you report to the IRS.

I would be concerned if it was anyone else other than BRS. IMO they deserved to get ripped off, just like they do to their customers during these so-called 'promos'.

While I figured the pricing was a mistake, I also figured BRS might be discontinuing GHL like they did with the Coral Care 2. I bought one of those when they put them on clearance. The discount wasn't nearly as much but it saved me close to $400 off retail.

Even if they discontinued GHL they wouldn't sell for these prices. This is how they would argue that you knew it was a mistake. How many GHL dosers have you seen in the classified forums for $29.99? They could easily sell them at clearances prices of 10% off if they were discontinuing the line.

Anyone who ordered and are claiming they thought it was a sale are being disingenuous. If you ordered intentionally trying to take advantage of the mistake, then that is a different thing.

I just don't care one way or the other... Corporations (not all of them) suppress smaller businesses into submission and buy them for pennies on the dollar, they take advantage of government loopholes, skirt taxes, and all kinds of other things. Yet, the average joe on the street sees a situation worth taking advantage of and capitalizing on, and people question humanity. What kind of a messed-up worldview do you have to have when you're conditioned to scorn your fellow man and stand in the same corner as the corporation that basically takes advantage of you every single day?

Which does question why someone started a R2R thread to highlight it to them (although they probably already knew).

If I had tried to take advantage of this mistake, I would probably have remained quieter than a nun in a library.

I would still fight it, according to law, Errors in advertising, even online are on the onus of the business. Regardless of there policies. I have been in this situation twice before and I have gotten the advertised price I paid in both cases. The business will end up writting it off or claiming it under insurance.

Except for the fact that they laid this out in their terms and conditions which people de facto accept by making a purchase. I know people can get all up in arms over this...but unless BRS really decides to bite the bullet on this...I think people are going to be out of luck.

There is no law that states a business has to honor an incorrectly advertised price. They aren't allowed to intentionally state the incorrect price but that clearly isn't what happened here.

It is for the business to decide where the goodwill/cost balance is and decide what to do. If it's one customer with a small error, they will probably honor the price. If they sell out their entire stock at a loss of thousands of dollars then they will likely cancel the orders, which is their legal right to do.

Wow, I didn’t expect this topic to become an issue of morality.

Although I believe these prices to be a mistake, I shared in the off chance BRS was reducing stock intentionally for end of year. I fully expect cancelled orders if it was a mistake but we won’t know until BRS confirms.

So you cash in the bonds, get super rich, buy a GHL setup at Full price becuase now that your rich..you can, then buy an island, create your own dictatorship on your island and skirt the IRS!!!!! ........Next thing you know, Rip shows up at the house with John talking about "We gotta bring you to the train station"
