Gimmito's 450 Gal L-Shaped Display

Can't wait to see what you have for us next...great build

Thanks Fishscale,

Aside from stocking the frag tank and getting those clowns ordered...I'll be working on getting the light rack installed and cleaning up power cords.

Update on the 40 gal fuge. I added 2" of Carib Sea Eco Complete Substrate and another couple bags of live sand (total of 5"). Scott Fellman recommended Gulf Coast Ecosystem for seagrass and I'm thinking of trying shoal grass (Halodule Wrightii) and some type of red macroalgae for contrast. Russ at GCE is great to work with an extremely knowledgable. I also picked up a slightly used Aquatic Life 4x39 HO T5 fixture and will use a mp10 for flow.

Why so much light on fuge? What is the K? You can grow great algae under 6500k. Just wondering. You have put so much power usage in to this. Seems like you might want to look for places you can reduce usage.

Great question ! I have various bulbs from 10k, blue plus, aqua blue plus, & purple plus that came with the fixture. I'm going to look into some 6,500 k bulbs also. Unfortunately, sea grass is a different beast and require quite a bit of light. I had considered LEDs, but after talking to Russ at GES, he suggested T5's as the best option to go with.

Ed at Aquarium Currents updated the motors for my Sea Swirls. It's capable if much more flow now and is whisper quite. Ed also sent me some 1 1/4" couplers that enables the Sea Swirls to sit lower in the water without the need of loclines.

That crazy man. When you gonna start adding fish to that bad boy?

I'm going to place a order w/Proaquatix sometime this month for the clowns. I just want to make sure the sponge is seeded sufficiently.

Love the nice, clean, and organized filtration center. Love it man!
