Glass Cleaning Magnets

What does everyone use/recommend for a glass cleaning magnet.

Flipper or Tunze. I use the flipper and it does a fine job. Those are basically the 2 that most will recommend.

The flipper is a great all in one, felt on one side and scraper on the other, and the blades are replaceable.

I still use a magna float with the blades...if I ever need to replace I will probably go with the flipper. Lots of recommendations on the flipper and I like the size/shape.

what size flipper would work for a 220 gallon tank....glass.

Flipper Max for that size of tank. I found that if I bend the blades a bit with pliers it can scrape the hard to scrape algae better.

I use the Tiger Shark for my 3/4 Glass.

You would need the Great White Plus.

Used Magfloats since they were the newest thing. Yeah, if you get a bit of sand caught in it, it'll scratch the heck out of your tank, but it still beat cleaning with a stick type scraper. Used them until I found the Flipper. Loved the flipper, but did have one issue... the steel blade damaged the silicone in the corners of my tank over time. Won a Tunze Long care magnet in a raffle a little over a year ago. I would probably never have bought one... didn't look like it would be worth the high price. After using one for a while, I've changed my mind. Recently bought a Strong version for my new tank (15 mm glass).

Love the Tunze. Works great, doesn't damage silicone, doesn't scratch glass... it's worth the extra money.

Great white is hard to use cause it's so strong. Needs a real thick glass.

I wish my magfloat could accommodate a blade. I actually just changed the pads on mine for the first time in 11 years. Performance has been improved. Still if I was purchasing a new one I'd probably try a flipper and probably eventually will get one. I use a kent scraper since my mag float can't scrape as well.

I use the regular flipper on my 200dd. It works fine (12mm glass)

Magfloat have a scrapper version now.
It ok and is what i use.
I just hate the small one i got it never stays on the glass and shudders sometimes.

Mighty magnet I use this on 180gallon and it works awesome. I clean the whole tank in less than 5min with coraline algae on the glass If I let it build up for a week or so.

I have a flipper max for my 210 and a flipper nano for my RSM 130. I think they are the best.

I use both mag with blades and flipper, just depends on what blades I have on hand.

Btw don't get the smallest tunze, the magnet is too weak to make use of the blade. Didn't try the bigger size so can't speak if its the size or design.
