Going Fallow After 5 months Due To Ich

No sunlight, tank in basement. I have the ammonia alert badge and it is "yellow" so basically no ammonia.

I checked the ammonia a few days ago and it was 0.25mg/dL or 2.5ppm which is pretty low. I still did another 25% water change. A bit cloudy still and fish doing ok.

Prazi pro can cause bacterial blooms and deplete oxygen levels quickly.

I did a 50% water change last weekend and then used Quickstart bacteria again to try to get the biological filter going. I waited 48 hours and dosed prazipro last night. Will treat for five more days and do 25% water change. Following that I will treat for another 3 to 5 days with prazipro and another 25% water change. After this the fish will be finished with the QT copper and prazipro as well as the 70 day fallow period. They will go back into the display tank in 10 days. Finally. All look great at this time.

Just be sure to add them back slowly so as not to overload your biofilter. Good luck on the home stretch!

I'll be adding back fish to the DT later this week. Which should I put back in first? How long should I spread out adding fish back in?

Here are the fish I need to add back:

Kole Tang
2 Stubby Ocellaris Clowns
Starry Blenny
Royal Gramma

Thanks!

I'd go Blenny, Clowns, Tang, gramma. In that order. I'd spread it out over a couple weeks. Like every 3 or 4 days add a fish (or pair with the clowns)

Why did you choose the selection of fish entry? Temperament?

I'll introduce the first fish back to DT tomorrow. Does anyone suggest doing a freshwater dip?

They have already been through 30+ days of copper and 2 rounds of prazipro and look great.

IMO; No need to do a FW dip after 30 days of copper plus 2 rounds of Prazi. :)

Yes temperament was my main reason. That and keeping it slow - slower is almost always better in this hobby- to keep from overwhelming your bacteria populations.
