I can try that, it never hurts to have variety in their dietOnly read the first page, however a great food to get a eel eating is crawfish. Get some small enough for him to eat, its a little magic trick I've used for years to get finicky eels to eat.
Edit: Glad its eating
.I get that, I've loved eels since I was a kid, so they are kind of special to me lol and the snowflake has a lot of personality, golden not as much lolGlad to see he's eating.
Personally, at least right now, I have no interest in eels. Seem like too much of a pain in the butt for a critter that will almost never come out where I can see it.
Thanks! Yeah he just is really shy, ill see him eating a little piece of shrimp I drop in every now and then. Have you tried a skewer? The tongs might reflect light and freak him out. It's been a while and somehow this thread got burried in my notifications. I'm glad you got your eel eating. I'm thinking mine is a combination of new tongs and some water quality issues from my DI. Hopefully with the water quality solved I can get him used to the tongs...

Mine rips food off of plastic tongs. Once they associate the tongs with food it's a breeze. He eats whatever is on them.He used to eat off metal tongs, then quit... I now have plastic 3d printed tongs that are much larger. Going to get more metal tongs today. I've also tried a bamboo skewer with no luck. I'm gonna find some ghost shrimp and see if he'll go for them.
