Golden Dwarf Moray Eel not eating.

Let me ask you this, has he ever put his mouth on the silverside and then swam away. Like played with it?
He's had his mouth around it, then he moved his head back and forth pretty violently, only for about 1 second though, then retreats back into his hole

Also do you notice him more active at night?? I feed mine at night, and use my cell phone flash light.
I usually try around 9 PM. I try with the lights out sometimes.

OK, I think I solved your issue. He's afraid of the stick. At night wait for him to peep his head out, and gentally place the silverside right near him and retreat with the feeding stick.... Watch from a few feet away... I bet you he eats.

My newer guy did same thing first time. Played with silverside on stick. Then got spooked out. Next time he started same thing and released the food and he grabbed it. After that he ripped the silverside off stick.

I guess you would call this training :)

Ok I'll try that tonight

Update, I still haven't seen my golden dwarf eat, its been nearly 2 months now, I got him on Dec 21. I'm convinced he's eating something because he hasn't lost any color and doesn't look sick or anything.

Are you feeding tank anything?

Feed the eel ghost shrimp. He will eat them... Forget to mention that...

Refresh my memory, is he alone in the tank?

yes, aside from 1 molly that has been in saltwater for 3 months just in case he wants to eat it.
Hmm, weird. I know I've seen mine scavenging the tank after I feed the other fish.

Like you said, he is eating something. Keep adding the clean up crew, lol

Will do! I've found snail shells in the sump he manages to get into sometimes. So not only is he managing to get back there, he's taking a snail with him. Little turd lol

He might also be eating things like bristle worms that come out at night.

That's true, I saw one bristle worm a couple of weeks ago and haven't seen it since, but it could be hiding.

Ghost shrimp can also be acclimated to live in the tank as well. Have you tried holding a live ghostie with your tongs and feeding him that way.

I haven't, I'll try that next time petsmart has some in stock

Good news! I finally saw the little guy eat! I was excited and I only managed to get this picture before he went back into his cave.
