Golden Dwarf Moray Eel not eating.

Update, I still haven't seen my golden dwarf eat, but he hasn't lost any color, and is still the same size as he was when I got him (month and 1 day as of this update). I've noticed a lot of hermit crabs have gone missing so I think he is eating them when I'm not watching.

When mine went on an extended hunger strike I saw the same thing. He had a little graveyard of shells near his cave.

Yes, once he took to the stick again it was easy. He probably ran out of snails and crabs. Between him, my puffer and my Tusk, I was constantly restocking.

He might also be patrolling at night and eating leftovers.

An won't eat if water parameters are out of whack, check your phosphates and nitrates , eels are like snakes only eating maybe once or twice a week

I still haven’t seen the little guy eat, but he hasn’t lost color or weight. And when I did the last water change, I found 3 empty clean up crew snail shells. So I think he’s eating my clean up crew (great) what do you guys think?

Ive tried silversides, clams on the half shell, scallops, mussels, table shrimp, krill, and ghost shrimp.

I feed shrimp , I cut them up and soak the shrimp in vitachem, garlic, and selcon. I use raw shrimp nothing already cooked

The table shrimp is raw, i let it thaw in water and cut it up, ive tried soaking it in garlicguard by seachem but nothing is working

Are your parameters in check ? , I've herd eels won't eat if the nitrates or phosphates are too high. Has the eel established itself in the tank ?

Yep i check parameters weekly and everything seems to be in order. And he seems to be doing well in the tank, hes been in there for a month.

No, I live in central Missouri and our seafood selection is lacking. I also should have also mentioned ive tried the frozen chopped squid and he didnt want it
