Good Morning!

Terrible flooding in TN yesterday. @Mike from TN, I hope everything is ok up your way. It sounds like the worst of it was west of Nashville. I hope the Glasscages folks didn't have any trouble. I saw that Dickson was mentioned on the news.

Thinking of the folks who will be impacted by Henri. Lots of weather stuff going on.

Anyway, good morning. We had a lot of rain, but nothing like west of Nashville. I hope you all have a great day!

Good morning, Reefies! We went back to Siesta Key for a beach walk yesterday. It was a bit hotter than last week. We came home to a nap - wow, that was nice. Accomplished basically nothing yesterday.
No choice, I need to face my DT today. That cyano is spreading and now there are orange bubbles floating in one corner of my tank. I think this may all be flow problems. If I cannot dial this in in a few weeks, I may just have to call the LFS to come by to see if any red flags jump out at them. Normally, my reefy buddy would help me troubleshoot but he has too much going on with the wife's stroke. For now, suck and scrub.
I hope everyone stays dry and safe. Have a good hurricane party @Paul B!

Well, that was a crazy night. Dickson, Humpfrees and Hickman counties got hit bad. The town of McEwen which is 3 towns over, got 17.02” of rain. Terrible devastation there. 10 people perished and 40 are missing. We were under a tornado warning for hours.
We never lost power here but the GFI that the hen house is running off of tripped. Cooling fans got wet.
Looks like White Bluff dodged another bullet. We got 9.6” of rain.

Holy crap man! Glad you're safe and hope the house didn't take any major damage.

We are in it right now but it is supposed to get much worse in 2 hours. I am ready with my generator gassed up and plenty of Grand Marnier.

We did okay here. Our house sits just off the crest of a hill with great runoff into streams on both sides. Each stream run about 100’ below us so we never really have any washout.
Im getting ready to load up the chainsaw and tow straps in the truck and head out to see if I can be of any help. I think they can use all the assistance they can get.

Good morning everyone.
I'll try to throw in something a little lighthearted.
The last time we were going to get hit by a hurricane I went to a local brewery the night before (we were evacuating the next day) for a quick beer with a friend. The woman tending bar looks at me says, "Today I bought 3 twelve packs of my favorite beer and a dozen joints, so I whatever happens I think I'll be fine for a few days. I might get some soup too."

Stay safe everyone!

Such rainfall!! Nothin says neighbor like a chainsaw and shovel!

Today I am making
IMG_3904-M.jpg

In honor of my mother who was from Louisville, Ky. I have her recipe but she neutered it since my dad claimed to not like hot stuff or garlic. What I made was a combination of hers and the one I found online.

You put cooked spaghetti in this but don't serve it over it like Cincinnati Chili.
I also made cornbread.

I mixed up Paul Bs concoction. It has to sit 29 more days. Being dedicated I pealed the garlic since I couldn't find a jar of it. It actually smells very good on day 2.

I mean who doesn't want to be healthier.

I hope everyone is successfully making it through the storms.

I just bought another gas can for my generator because of the hurricane coming tonight. (even though I don't believe it) and I went to Costco to fill it and my car with gas.

The line for gas started out on the main road so the line for each pump was like 30 cars long.

Like really! Who would be stupid enough or cheap enough to wait on that line?

I made a "U" turn and went to another station where the gas is like 7 cents a gallon more and no line. Like who cares!!!!! I don't do lines well.
time is money.
