Good Morning!

Good morning. Over the weekend I bought myself a new reclining, rocking, swivel chair for one reason only. To sit comfortably and relax looking at my tank. Where the tank sits there is no place to really do this until now! Now I just need to figure out the best way to get rid of the glare and reflection from the huge sliding door. Curtain are not a good option cause there is no easy way to mount the center brace for curtain rod. And I hate curtains due to my allergies and all the dust they collect. Was thinking about anti glare window tint, like what is used on cars maybe?? Does anyone know if that stuff works very well?

The tank is on opposite wall from the door/ wall of windows. (It’s always been difficult to really see the tank due to glare and reflection.) And it’s big! 140”wide by 95” tall. Anyone got any ideas?

Here is the door/windows I’m talking about.

I put static cling window tint on all 3 of our storm doors (no glue or residue if you remove it) because our cats like to look out. You can see out fine but nobody can see in during the day. If the lights are on IN THE HOUSE, you can see in at night. Not only does it cut the glare, it also insulates the glass. Cooler in Summer and warmer in Winter.
Very easy to install with soapy water in a spray bottle and a squeegee. I got it off Amazon!

Do you have a link so I get the right stuff? Thanks

i agree with this, i used it on a west facing bedroom; cut down the light and glare to allow me to use a 90's computer screen and cut down on the heat so my baby was comfortable (real baby in addition to my PC)

This is the stuff I used. It comes in different sizes though. You would need each panel longer to avoid seams.
A trick I learned when doing window tint on vehicles and vinyl wraps is to use a felt lined squeegee and have lots of X-Acto blades on hand. You’d be surprised how fast the blades get dull when cutting vinyl.

Good Morning All!
Im getting an early start today. Gotta get all the chores done before my Imaging appointment. I wish it was an earlier appointment because this is going to mess up getting my AFTERNOON chores done.
Had a rough night again last night with the headaches but life goes on, even without sleep.
Warm here this morning. It’s already 50* out but the nights are still too cold for my old “girls”. I’ve been locking them inside the coop (which is inside the hen house) at night. Before we know it, I’ll be having to heat up their “Snuggle Safe” pads to put in the coop with them. Gotta keep the “Old Gals” warm and cozy.
The leaves are really piling up here but I’ve been hesitant about blowing them until I find out what’s going on with my lungs.
Let’s see, What Else is new?
My truck is giving me a hard time and Angela has the Escape parked at the airport all week. I may try re-flashing the computer this morning and removing the performance tune, at least until I can talk to tech support. I figure I’ll stock up on groceries while I’m in town just in case. I’d hate to be stranded at home all week without food. The Prednisone has me eating like I just got out of prison, LOL!
Hope Y’all have a great day. Be safe, healthy & happy!

Good morning everyone!

Good Morning Reefies.
work project is on hold.
they as yet haven't found me something else to do.
funny... in years past they used to argue with me about taking time off (3 days a week) to go hunt.
now they are suggesting it.
off to play duck bingo.
have a fab day.

Good morning. Last week I finally put my pair of Blue Line Angels in my DT.Didn’t go as well as planned. I usually put them In acclimation box for a couple days. Got one in and the second one jumped just as I was putting him in the box and went in the tank instead. Oops, so let the other one go in tank also. No body seamed to bother with them so I got lucky! Got a hippo tang ( the one from pre quarantined place that broke out with ich)and bought another trio of Flame Angels (got them from LFS this time , no more per quarantined for me) just out of copper treatment and in observation tank for a couple weeks before I add them to the DT. Got some old nasty dry rock that’s been sitting outside all summer that I need to do an acid bath on before it turns colder again on Friday. Got to go get some baking soda for neutralizing first. Got a busy day so I better get going. Hope everyone has a good day!

Good Morning!
it was 68 degrees yesterday afternoon, a lost opportunity to ride. i dropped the light intensity in the afternoon making the DT more blue, waiting now to see how the critters like it, a gave a piece of krill to the carpet anemone Sunday to see if it would eat something that big, yup. Tuesday all day.

Good Morning Reefies.
the ducks won yesterday.
never pulled the trigger.
nor did many others. highly unusual for this time of the season.
also unusual, bent over to load up at shooting time and got hit hard with vertigo.
not a fun thing when you're standing in water.
no idea why.
sorta better today.... a little light headed, but that could be from not eating when i got home.
try again tomorrow.
hope all my friends here find themselves in a better place than yesterday.
have a fab day.

Good morning. Was making coffee this morning when I heard a “crack, crack” sound coming from the basement. My first thought was oh no my 180 is about to bust! Dropped what I was doing and ran downstairs. No , It’s just the cat! He somehow got into the closet and found some old bio balls that I use in my qt tank and brought a few out to whack around. I guess they work as cat toys too ;Cat Never a dull moment this this guy in the house. LOL

My cats love getting into my aquarium stuff. Malkin is my water making supervisor. Every time I get the RO until out he sits right next to it.
