Good Morning!

Good morning, I keep working on croissants. Need some nice bread to go with a feast. I'll be making a roast beef for christmas eve. I am going to try my hand at a copy cat "lofthouse" cookies. I need to buy new cake pans. I'll have to take pictures if I ever make my raspberry white chocolate cake again. It taskes so long to make.

Sunny was throwing a fit, she wanted pizza rolls the husband and son had yesterday. She did eventually get a couple.

baking at 6700 feet where I live is darn near witch craft. Water boils at 1 degree less for every 1000 feet in elevation. Brownies take a little over an hour, but cookies bake in 9 minutes. Cakes take anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour and a half. Cornbread is even worse. Sometimes you need to add extra flour, sometimes not. I can't count how many times I had to start over. Making candies is even harder. You have to subtract 12 degrees, but add 2-5 minutes.

Good afternoon! Crazy day yesterday and so far today. Afternoon ended with husband stranded in the mall parking lot with a dead battery. I drove out there with my jumper cables, but he was surrounded by cars and I couldn't get close. Couldn't roll the car out either. It took 2 members of mall security plus a fireman with a toolbox to get him started. Then, I tried to go to the grocery store. No parking places, which meant a trillion people were crammed in there, so I left.

Started over today. Grocery store at 8:30 a.m...much better, but I forgot the pie. Back to the grocery store after an appointment and there was no parking. Had to go in anyway to find a pie. I am done now. Packages are loaded, pie is loaded, and we will head to Nashville tomorrow.

I'm so sorry for all of you dealing with covid issues/other sickness/family this time of year. It's so hard when plans get upended. We're all trying to make the best of things right now. Our grandkids up north are especially having a hard time this year. We've been sending lots of random gifts, trying to cheer them up.

On a positive note, after losing our precious husky in July, my husband mentioned the d-o-g word this week. I think it would be good for both of us. We're going to start working on that after the 1st of the year. :)

Good morning! I think we're still going out of town. We may be joining the sick-family-members-over-Christmas club. Got a call from our Nashville son yesterday saying Teddy was running a 103 temperature. He has no other symptoms and had covid a few months ago, but that doesn't mean it couldn't be covid round 2. He was bouncing off the walls last night, so we're hoping it was just a quick "kid virus" thing. We can be up there in just over 2 hours, so there's no huge rush to leave. I'm just enjoying my coffee for now and waiting for the morning update.

I told our son we might brave whatever Teddy has as long as it ISN'T a stomach virus. Nothing will stop us in our tracks faster than the dreaded stomach virus. Sorry son, we love you, but no. ;Hilarious

I hope you all have a Merry Christmas Eve. The holidays just seem to get more and more complicated with a certain virus thrown in the mix now. I wish you and your families well. For those who are traveling, safe travels. ;Joyful

Good morning everyone!

Good morning, heading out to do some last minute food shopping. Time to cross all i's and dot all t's.

Ran out of eggs baking yesterday. Going to make a few large batches of bread rolls for tomorrow. I think my biggest baking issue is a non calibrated oven. I turned the temps down by 25degrees and the bread looks much better after baking.

Merry Christmas eve! Happy holidays.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Lets not forget at this time of the year all the kids, including babies who are in the hospital fighting for their life and I pray they make it to enjoy many more Christmases in their future :)

Good Morning!
so there were people getting up thinking it was a good day to be alive 'cause the alternative was unknown. there were people praying for strength to survive the winter, for answers, for hope.
All through time, God's plan unfolds, each moment important, each breath a gift, but this day would be significant to how the plan was experienced by us. I am awestruck by the change. there was fear of change in the hearts of some and they took steps to try to stop or manage the change. for that reason some of the details were hidden and became lost. was it this day or that season, i do not know for sure, i wasn't there, but the change came and we are blessed by it. if this is the day we observe the Eve, honor the mother, the birth to come, anticipate the joy, I will share it with those I love. So breathe in, breathe out,... and feel the love; and experience the still unfolding plan.
