Good morning. Hoping for a get together this weekend with the kids. It's supposed to snow Friday but we all have AWD.
I haven't really done anything with the new tank except touch it in the garage and mumble My Precious. We did get it turned right side up. If I made the stand today and tomorrow it could be on it by Sunday. I wanted to make a nice looking one but it's the wrong time of the year for painting in the garage.
The twins always yell fish fish fish on our facetime calls so we point the camera at the tanks. I wonder what Kirk will do when I leave them all this stuff in my will. I guess that wont be my problem then.

Careful Mike, that isn't a sports car.

Good Morning! It's -2 this morning and trying to snow. We are now expecting an inch on Friday. We are almost desperate for a few feet. Hopefully it will happen. Have a great day and stay safe!
 
I have watched a lot of BRS videos about lights showing beautiful tanks including the one about the Reefbreeders Photon.
If I set mine to the settings they recommend it looks awful to me. Blue grey with zombie fish swimming in it.
I actually have my red, green, white and violet channels set high and the 2 blue ones set low. This brings it close to how my MH lights over the other tank look to me.

I have started wondering if I am color blind in some way. I have been tested many times though.

I have decided I am going with AI Hydra 32s on the new tank. 3 now and 2 more later. I really hope I don't hate them.
I have a thought in the back of my head that I may be able to keep types of corals in there I cant in the big tank because they get eaten.

Still raining here this morning and the temps are dropping. Ice is on the way.
Got some more parts in the mail yesterday but all I can do is sit and look at them, I’m definitely NOT going to be working outside today. I painted some stuff in the barn yesterday and when we got a break in the rain, I ran them into the house and baked them in our oven. Angela hates when I do that! LOL!
Hopefully, we won’t lose power here. Only expecting 1/10 inch of ice buildup but we have lots of big trees surrounding the power lines from the street to the house.

we ended up getting nine inches.
high winds are making drifts out of that a foot plus deep.
fun stuff.
road crews have been out all night plowing.
not sure if they hit our road (rural dirt) or not yet.
schools are closed so busses aren't running so we are low on the list.

shocked there weren't any power outs.
all though i did lose some channels last night (direct tv and prob some snow on the dish) so imissed the wings losing to the kings.

in fish tank news, my show piece crashed.
japanese koji wada pink leather.
being a leather, not sure if its temporary or not.
angry, sad, depressed....
was getting ready to frag it and share it with ten r2r's that i was doing a road trip to meet/greet.

look at it as an adventure instead of a hassle. ;)
 
Good morning! I hope everyone does well with the storm today. I have several packages delayed, including some pods. Hopefully, they will arrive dormant. I usually open the lid and let them sit on the counter overnight to gradually bring up the temperature, then dump them in the next morning when the lights are still out. I'm glad I don't have any fish or corals on order now.

Interesting! I keep my white/blues/violet higher and my red and green lower on my RB Photon. I like the "blue" look, though. I found out the hard way not to max any of my channels out at higher than about 50%.
