Yes the light works very well once it's set up properly. If you want to keep evaporation down to a minimum and keep the stock hood then the Fluval Marine light bar works well. And I've also added two 12-in 453nm light bars under the Hood from 21ledusa. They have them on for $18 a pieceI’d like to eventually upgrade the light and get a mesh hood. Do you recommend that light? I don’t want to break the bank
You may wanna think about upgrading the lighting.A few are a bit closed up as I just turned the lights on and they were off all night. They usually all fully open back up by lunch time

Thank you! I’ve had trouble figuring out exactly what way to face my wave maker. Right now I just have it placed at the back glass because pointing it towards middle of tank was just too much flowNice looking tank!
Good flow, great surface agitation. But it does have a generally dim look. I would suggest that you monitor and lets see how things look in a few months.

Could you explain a little more on that? The lightingThat power head in a tank that size will provide effective flow no matter where you place it!
Yes; definitely a good looking tank.
Something to consider; you could supplement existing lighting.

With the stock evo light, i would not get any corals that need/love lots of light. That is a very basic light. The GSP, Zoas, Leathers, and shrooms would be fine any level in this tank.
The stock fluval lights are not bad. But yeah they won’t put out enough to grow Sps or some more difficult lps.
Do you think I’d be fine to put on sandbed? I was looking for a coral that loves lots of light and was told GSP and Zoa’s are a good option. May switch that top rock to zoas and move GSP on sand
Between 78.6-80.2 most of the time. Drops to 78 at night and gradually rises around 80 through the dayAh... looking back at your pics, I see your lights are enclosed in a hood.
I envisioned a different light, one that is on an arm suspended over the tank. This would make it easier to add another light to the tank across the top.
But with a hood like yours, you're looking at retrofitting, and it probably isn't worth the trouble.
Maybe the best thing to do is stay the course with what you have and if lighting is a clear issue in the future, you can upgrade by eliminating the hood.
I'm curious; what is the temperature in the tank?
Hmm see the guy at my LFS said they are good for high lighting lolIronically those are corals that are typically called low to moderate light corals at most stores
On it's own rock away from any other rocksRecommendation on placement? Currently on top rock closest to light

It will grow on anything, even itself. It won’t grow on the sand but if you have a rock it should
