Y’all have any experience with corkscrew anemones or hellfire anemones?

What do you want to know?

I have never kept a Macrodactyla doreensis but they are sand dwellers too..

Hellfire anemone will sting and eat pretty much anything and really should be in a species tank. Never kept on but that is pretty much common knowledge.

Honestly if you cant get this to live you should try a BTA there are allot of them tank raised now so no pressure on the wild and are the best beginner hosting anemone.

Agreed focus on your anemone they are great anemones...

Do you have a sand bed? If not I use a plastic Tupperware container with sand in it. Dig a hole to the bottom and gently bury the foot...
turn off the flow for a bit and see if he stays. I agree with davocean you do not want to give it too much light with it being bleached.

Next once settled.
Is it sticky and will it eat? You are going to need it to eat or it is going to starve with out zooxanthellae.
If it is sticky and eats it will be much better. If it is really low on energy it may not be sticky..
You can try turning the flow off and put some food right on top of the mouth.

Unfortunately it did not make it but for future reference what anemones should I avoid?

Its not extended but appears healthy. Place it under good light and moderate flow as It does not like high flow and feed occasionally with Mysis shrimp and reef roid
