I wouldn't trust these, in that case. You'll at least need to get saltwater kits. Also, Salifert is pretty reliable. Not too expensive. But twice as much as api.

I just can't say why it is doing a polyp bailout, unless phosphates are very low, or very high.

I'd leave it there. they do not like a lot of light. Until you accilmate them to it. Always start low with new corals. Raise them up a few inches if it looks like they are reaching for more light.

You may need to remove the other empty head so algae doesn't take over and grow on the living head.

Do I need some bone cutters for that

You don't need to do that right now, give the other hammer head time to adjust first. Keep an eye out for algae on skeleton and if it should start to grow, yup.
