I wish I could do that, been drooling over their stuff for some time. Unfortunately I somehow doubt that they ship to Sweden [emoji1]
We’re very limited in sources for our livestock I’m afraid, it’s mostly all TMC and De Jong.

Ah - I was not aware. I'm sorry.

Logistics and price make it prohibitive I guess which is too bad. Like you said it really restricts you although those people have to be getting the stock somehow, right?

Derasa are a great starting clam. Some of the patterns are very nice too.

Starting with a deresa is great advice, and I couldn’t be happier......or have a happier clam!

I just got my first clam. Have no idea what he looks like, he's only about 3/8" open. He came out of a crashing tank. I took all the livestock (corals, rocks, anemone and some hermits. All this but one died. I didnt take the fish) from a fellow reefer. He opens every day, not much, but its more than he was when I got him. Which was about 11 days ago. He seems happier and I'm hoping the little guy pulls through.
If you have any questions there are plenty of clam enthusiasts on here that can help:D

I was chatting with Dr. Mac about his last video he showed with regards to receiving new product and their process of inspection and acclimation. I suggested they do a video on how to handle them and place in aquariums. That is one of the reasons why I won't add one to my tank.

I'm utterly clueless how to handle them and place in the tank. Maybe I'm over thinking it but a simple urchin did this to me two weeks ago. I received a shipment from LA/DD and an urchin was in it. It was easy to transfer to the acclimation box but after that I must have sat there for 30 minutes once everything was ready trying to figure out how to pick it up and place in the tank. I'm sure it was looking at me funny the whole time saying, "I DON'T BITE" but nope. Time went by until I figured enough was enough and I just gently picked it up and placed in the tank. It turned and looked and said, "SEE...I'm not a porcupine!!!!"

Same issue I have with clams. Size and hinge or how they are makes me a nervous wreck...go figure.

The only one who needs to be sorry about something is me, over our crappy selection of livestock[emoji1]

I don’t think it matters where they get their stuff from. My suspicion is that something in their system nukes the clams regardless of source.

Their is a LFS Thai imports their own stuff fairly close to me but they get clams once or twice a year. Might try to snag one if the opportunity arises.

Lol. But I thought I read somewhere that they can squirt or expel a stream of water? By closing or something? Thought I read whereas one did that and lost about 3 gallons of water and a MH bulb shattered. Maybe a fishing tale or someone trolling me.
Pulling them out of the water typically can cause that reaction. Just gotta be careful but our large squamosa has wet me and wife a few times before, lol.

Yeah, right next to 3,000 dollar anemone. To each there own right.....but a 60 dollar clam is over rated and over priced;Hilarious

No kidding. Hang on let me reposition all my $1,000 1/4" acro nubs I bought from photoshopped images that best case are only pretty under full Windex blues.

I had a beautiful maxima 11 years ago I had it for about 3-4 years before the great genocide in my tank. Our youngest kid who was about 2 at the time somehow managed to get to the top of the tank and dumped an entire container of pellets into the tank. Nobody knew he did it until I noticed everything melting a day later to this day I tell him he committed reef genocide

LOL - My 2.5 yo grandson shut off the freezer a few weeks ago. No genocide, but high dollar loss including 250lbs of recently butchered pig. God bless the little ones...

Right on, it’s my photo taking skills that are not as good as clam keeping [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787]
