Sorry if this is a dumb question but is power expected to be lost as water continues to rise? This is sadly incredible to see. So sorry!

Just heard the potential for another 2 to 3 feet of rain yet to come. More than likely the worst catastrophic flooding in U.S. history. When you wake up would like to hear an update.

Bro, never went to bed :(
Yes, it is unprecedented, never ever Houston been in this situation as officials don't know what is to come yet.

Water is just a few feet from my front door. @Diesel's landscaping is ;Drowning

It's not a dumb question, in cases yes but as long your switch panel is dry you're ok.

I've got one now! ;)

Bro, if water is that close to the door I'm going to pray you have a leak in your pond............ like a HUGE HOLE or something.
Let me know if Diesel need to rescue with the monster truck.
I have a empty bedroom and space for the dogs as well.

Been watching the weather channel since this started. My son's and their families homes are between College Station and Huntsville. They began flooding last night. No word from them so far today but I think they're fine, just busy.

I'm so glad that so far you all are safe :)

We getting a break of the rain as of now but I can tell you guys stories that is just heart breaking.
Forecast is that Harvey is heading back to Gulf and will strengthen once again and will make his way straight over Houston.
We had so far a rainfall total from 20" up to 50" as of today and they predict another 30" to 40" on top of that.
A total of 17.000 square miles is under water that is a big or bigger as some small states in the US.

Ever heard of a 500 year flood plan?
Well that's what we have going on.
Some times you ask yourself
"what did just happen?"
Well, a flood that just happens to happen once in the 500 years.
Pretty sure I won't be around for that one :p

Been looking at some of the videos on the news. Holy cow, any city with 4 FEET of water would have issues. Flooding up to the stop lights is just crazy. I was in Salt Lake 30 years ago when they turned main street into a river because of flood runoff, and all the highschoolers were let go to help fill sandbags around town. I thought that was bad, but you really can't do anything when its falling from the sky.

How are you doing @Diesel, I'm afraid your beautiful landscaping is toast. I can barely imagine the destruction to people's homes and lives there.

We doing great so far, just that silly satellite is going down from time.
My show "Last Ship" is on and can't watch it.
Flooding here is crazy but as I mentioned earlier my house is a lot higher than the rest.
I have street flooding as water in coming out the storm drains and not going in due to the Bayou's are either from 2 till 7 feet out the banks.
Btw, my landscaping will be fine as the soil I'm using is a mix of leaflitter and compost, but you can ask @d2mini as I have done several yards for him and rain or shine it always looked perfect.
