You guys are confused. The probiotic salt does not contain a carbon source. It contains bacteria and like others said, amino acids.
AF has a carbon source that you dose called -np pro for lowering nutrients. It's not in the salt.

Ok. So in a sense it's supposed to contain the bacteria that carbon dosing populates? And the probiotic contains Aminos the standard salt doesn't? What about using the salt as a stand alone product without any additives?

I switched about 2 months ago and I have to say my SPS PE has improved greatly. I am not using the probiotic Salt though. I am using the ProBio S and Pro NP so that I can control the adds as my tank has been suffering with some Cyano for a while. This salt mixes very well and the last batch I tested was very close to the spec sheet included in the bucket. I would speculate the testing they perform on the batches of salt should be more precise than my testing. I used to have one acro colony that would slime up when I did a water change, but that does not happen with the AF salt.

Yes the probiotic salt contains bacteria and amino acids in it and it is fine to use as a stand alone salt especially for sps aquariums with low nutrients. I am not sure if it contains any other forms of nutrients maybe someone can chime in but if there is other stuff I doubt they would be very specific about what it is.

Would it be easier to use the standard AF without the probiotic, then carbon dose yourself? That way you could control the NO3?

For me I don't specifically get caught up in all the additives. Just looking at the core parimeters in a salt and believe one can achieve success without all the extra bling. If the filtration is proper, with flow, and the tank isn't overstocked.. Well, that's my approach.

I guess it depends on your system, your livestock, what you want to achieve and how you want to go about achieving it. I like the ProBiotic system to help me keep my nutrients under control after major algae issues.

2 weeks after the products arrived to the US, I was 80% AF, I am now 100% and have not looked back

My only compain about aquaforest its this kind algae in my rocks...after 5 months it still...

...can somebody say what its this please??? I make 100% AF

We need some better pictures, try using white light when taking the photo. Also I wouldn't say it's aquaforest products causing the algae if that's what it is. Most likely would have happened weather you ran aquaforest or not imo.

I think aquaforest is the best and easiest to use right now in the market ... for about 6 months I have used all of its product line, with "reef salt", my only complaint and it is something that worries me a lot, it is That in my stones there is a kind of algae, not green, brown, it is something like a thin layer like velvet, light gray and about 1/4 inch, the curious thing is that I have never been able to remove it even in my Water changes about 30% each 2 weeks, I try to remove with a brush and nothing I get there ... I use kessil ap 700 at 30% and 2 t5 as a supplement "ati blue plus and actinic 39 watts" But that achievement is when I do not use the t5 light, I see that this algae decreases ... my parameters are alk 8.1, calc 440, mag 1400, salt 0.26, po3-0, po4 0.02 <0.08 and my temp, 76-77 fy I add as they say np pro and pro bio, af build, af energy, af amino mix and af coral v each second day with light off ....
Someone had this situation with aquaforest ????
So the corals look good, I have never lost any, I still think they are adapting to this new environment, it was a new system 75g

any advice ?????

That stuff you are seeing in your rocks is most likely the bacteria. It is good. That's actually the bacteria that lowers nitrate.

Thanks for answer to me...yeah my nitrates are undetectable..im checking with red sea pro test kit and its " 0 " all the time and my phosphates maximum 0.06 before my water changes each 2 weeks....im really worry about this bacteria explotion...im really upset because im working hard in this tank and from begining start using aquaforest products 100%....excatly like they recomended...do you have some recomendation for save me from this horrible bacteria?? Looks like the worse algae explotion...

My recommendation would be to skim wetter, feed less, get a clean up crew. The bacteria are clinging to DOC's on your rocks. If you use an organic carbon source like vinegar, vodka, nopox, whatever the AF equivalent is, I would cut back on that also.

I have been using the probiotic salt without any additives and i have defiantly seen an improvement it PE and growth so far.

For now i stop add carbon source like aquaforest np pro and pro bios , also stop af amino mix , af coral v and af energy...i make it 30% water change using aqua forest reef salt...i can tell that its much better now the bacteria grow...

Following along as I am also experiencing the same bacteria/ algae issue that johanngh1977 is experiencing.

As of current I am doing 5% weekly water changes with AF reef salt and dosing the following AF products:

AF A and V every other day
AF B and E every other day opposite of the AF A and V
ProBio S and -NP Pro every other day.

All at half the recommended doses.

I have also started dosing Nitrates (KNO3) to maintain approximately 5 ppm.

I use Red Sea Blue bucket because it compliments the zeovit system i employ. Thought about trying the AF salt a few times but couldn't see a good enough reason to. Corals are doing great and the parameter are stable. If it's not broke then don't fix it as the saying goes. I will continue to follow the feedback on their products.

HW salt I use totally synthetic but awesome not super expensive like 75 bucks on brs with free shipping on not to high of orders or free in general. There is zero residue and mad amounts of additives. I was using Red Sea pro before and will not go back but they don't carry it usually at LFS. I used salinity dont like it to many inconsistencies. The HW salt is totally dissolved in one hour and I run my salininity a lil high around .027
