Help, leak in silicone

Attempts to repair it would probably void the warranty. Given this is a somewhat expensive RS tank with a warranty, I would just let them handle it completely and work on pre-emptively re-housing your tank inhabitants. Any local reefers would probably be glad to help another person out in this situation.

Yes that is the other concern I had, voiding the warranty.
I just heard back from Red Sea, they will be shipping a new tank.
No word yet on if it will have the stupid holes in the back of the tank for those light mounts they use on the deluxe version. I won't be too happy about that if so, but I have to have a new tank so it is what it is.

I did post on my local club forum Saturday, in the need help section, asking if anyone had any water containers I could borrow at least to hold water during transfer. As of right now, 33 views, not a single response. Well, Alan offered to help here and is local (kinda, ha)
So yeah, I'll probably end up buying something to hold everything.
Unfortunately, my 20g fish quarantine has an occupant with a bacterial infection that's still healing up, or I would have moved livestock into that tank already.

Yeah that club is lame now. No one wants to trade anything any more. I digress...We live across from the new high school. You can decide if it's too far :)

At least a 30 gallon Brute trash can is only $30 at Home Depot to keep everything alive during the transfer.

Yeah, havent been on the sale/trade forums there lately. Making them member only to sell probably didnt help things..
I'd go over there more if they'd reconnect tapatalk support but they haven't responded last time I asked for an update on that.

Did get a couple frags at the swap Saturday (it was 5 min away from us), for $10 got a birdsnest, pocillopora, and a head of frogspawn.. some test corals for once everything has settled back down. They are in the biocube for now.

Yeah Home Depot is what I'm thinking... I'll definitely come by sometime about those frags you offered [emoji16] haha. just gonna get everything back up and running and stable. Looks like your about an hour away.

Does anyone know how long the warranty is on these reefer tanks? Kinda off topic but based on this good to know.
1 year from purchase and they ask for the receipt to be uploaded on the tech support form. Don't know how much of a stickler they are on the receipt, as I had it ready.

Good deal.
I didn't have a problem with the drilled tank with my replacement. I also bought a 350 at the same time and no holes.

They were pretty easy on the 1 year with me. Although I am sure tank had been leaking slightly for a while, it didn't really open up til 1 day after warranty. My receipt was March 23 2016 and leak became a real concern on March 24 2017. How's that for timing.
They didn't make an issue out of it though.

If you have big enough bar clamps throw a few on to keep the seams from splitting any further. It's awesome they are replacing the tank for you! Perfect customer service.

I would recomend two things on the transfer buy the biggest trash can u can from Home Depot and when done return it. When it comes down to it it's only water. Two tractor supply and grab two one hundred gallon Rubbermaid horse feed tubs and when done return one save one for a rainy day. Also did this. The thing with the horse tubs is u could set it up as an actual tank of anything goes longer then expected.

Yeah, that's the plan. I will probably just put the can on Craigslist or something when I'm done, or upgrade my 20g can...
Horse troughs are a no go. No storage, or place to set one up really... my 250 is only 54g anyway. I'll probably grab a couple totes to put put livestock in, the can can hold extra rock, sand, and water.

No just rinse it out and return it.

I swear I told the Home Depot person my intentions on why I was buying the trash can. Then I said something like a shame I'm wasting 85 dollars on a trash can I'm a use once and I quote the store manger of cherry hill nj Home Depot. Wait ur using it to hold water for a day? Rinse it out and return it people bring back trash cans the actually put trash in the day after trash day. Just be one of the nice ones and rinse it out so we don't have to. So yeah return it

Well that doesn't make me feel very good about putting my livestock/water in one if those trash cans...
I only need 1 so it's like $40

Well trash cans are expensive that's all I have to say about that. I thought the same thing. I have a 90 tho and I'm guessing urs is 65 gallons? Display roughly 50? Might get away with one but rember rocks take up some space.
And now is the time to take ur tie and redo everything the way u want it

Display is supposed to be around 54g. I already have a 20 gallon brute, and a few 2.5g jugs.

I have been debating if I want to try and change anything major with rockwork. This is the one tank I have setup and not felt a need to constantly tinker with the rocks... but I know I won't get them back in exactly the same.

New tank has shipped and is in town, just waiting to hear from shipping company. Red sea says this tank will not have the holes in the back glass.
Very pleased with the response from the company to this point.
Can't wait for the replacement to get here!
