I know its not a poor mans hobby. My granma just recently passed away at the beginning of November so money is tight right now. Its just my mom and I know, her and my dad are divorced. I try my hardest to do what I can. It just takes time.

It's almost christmas. Mike pm me your address and you shall receive a test kit. I've talked with you plenty through pm and on your threads. I know a part of your story, and I feel for you man. Also, if you can swing it, go down and buy some generic brand of purified water, get 5 gallons of it, buy some salt mix from Petco or your lfs and change your water 5 gallons one a week. Every saturday buddy.

I'm sorry for your loss. This hobby can be done on a budget... it just takes longer

I have a 29 biocube myself and this is what I do. I have a test kit, but I don't have to use it.......ever. water changes, water changes.

Yeah I went to post that a long time ago and just realized I didn't hit post reply. Lol now there are 2 pages, looks like it's covered. Agreed with Cameron, if your not dosing you gotta get a regular water change routine going.

Ive been in the hobby for over a year, and I did amazing with the nuvo pico 4 gallon (which is still set up). I just dont know whats going on with the birds nest. It was fine then I looked today and it looked like that picture. Should I move it to the other tank? By the way this is my first ever birds nest.

Do you have a local fish store to test your water?

get you water tested at you lfs that what i do , i have a test kit but i never use it my tank is stable just don't worry get your water tested and then take an action.. good luck

In my experience with my tank. sps dominant. I have over 30 different types of acro and. Milli. But the one coral that eludes me to this day that I cannot keep in my tank is birdsnest. I auto dose and test every other day. Params are stable and all other coral doing great. Birdsnest don't like my tank. It's a 93 bow front. 2 300w led black box and 2 tru lumen strips. Plenty of light. But if tank isn't well established and you can't test then stear clear of sps. Good rule of thumb is if you don't have great coraline growth than don't buy sps.
