I learned from Randy that if you have niTRITES at all, your niTRATE test will be reading false high every time. You have to make sure your nitRITES are zero before you will have an accurate niTRATE test result.

Just a thought

Nitrates have been consistant at zero

My test results as of now. For API test kit- Ammonia 0. Nitrite 0. Nitrate 160ppm highest it goes. Ph 8.0. Phosphate some color under .25

Salifert nitrate kit- 100 highest it goes.

Red Sea phosphate test kit ( the didn’t have the salifert in stock, I know that’s recc). - .08

2 more dead snails for 4 total.

What’s left of my CUC is 1 maybe 2 nasarious snails. Haven’t seen number 2. 5 blue hermits. 1 turbo. To astrea. Two turban.

Fish + other inverts: 2 clowns. 1 royal gramma. 1 cleaner shrimp. 1 sand sifting star.

It’s a 120 with dual corner overflows. An aqueon 2 sump ( undersized I believe). Mag 12 pump. Coralife 150 skimmer. Lights a SBreef pro 32

I add a few drops of Brightwell bacteria every night. IO nitrate reducer did nothing. I have a MARS API nitrate reducing bag in th sump flow last 2 days nothing as well.

Algea I know of is GHA. And thinking Dino is a possibility with what’s going on. I kept lights off all day. Still thick GHA and the rust on the rock is still present, sand not as much.

Any advise is appreciated. LFS suggested daily 10% water changes and if Dino to do a blackout for a week.

When do I consider doing a refugium , ATS, or UV?

Being I have the Red Sea kit should I still bring water to LFS for second test?

Had LFS confirm my test results. 0 ammonia 0 nitrite 100+nitrate. .08 phosphate. 8ph
Came to conclusion in other thread that I’m going to start a refugium
