Help with acan

Wene i first started reefing i had a 36 bow aquaeon and the nitrate s were at 160. And i keep coral jam pack in that thing with no deaths what so ever lps love nitrates

Exactly! that is my perception too... i thought LPSs are quite resistant to Nitrate ... the only reason I want to bump it down because I like SPS too much that I want to put them in.

Id never put these guys at risk if i didn't know what i was doing. Big wc man

After that 50% WC, I was so disappointed and lost trust in the magic of WC.

Hmmm I probably should try bigger than 50% ... perhaps 70% to 80%, but we don't want to shock the inhabitants.

How do you do your big WC? do you use pump?

I mix 30 g n my old 36 g aquarium and 10 g n a 20 g aquariumso i have plenty of room to stir. But put a powerhead n both and let it sit over night the next day i wake up before work and add calcium and alk to get it as close or same as my display tank put a heater in the new sw and go to work and wene i get home test to see if cal and alk is close or same as my tank and then i take a power head to my rocks and blow dirt and detritus and poop off and get the taank dirty but not to dirty i just blow a good portion of it off then i take a g jug and dip it n the top of display tank and poor that n a 5 g jug and take 5 g outside dump it then come back to do the same thing i do that till 20g. Then my next 20 g i take a water python or a siphon or whatever it is to my sand and they wont suck uup uour dirt if u do it right there made to clean sand. So i siphon out the other 20. Then one g at a time i feel my water back up with new water as fast as i can. O and i dont have a sump it wont fit under my tank. All my stuff is hob. Skimmer. Cpr hob refugium. Ans 110g hob filter. I leave my filter on to. Suck up the first 20 g to help filter the water then my water gets to low to use it. But my new water is same temp cause i use a heater. Same ph and cal and alk or at least close to my display tank

And my corals are exposed to air while all this is going on. I just poor water on them keep them a little wet
