But anyways talking about doseing in a high nitrate system i could of swore it said it on the bottle but its been over a year since ive touched the stuff my bad on that. But ive talked with my local fish shop about doseing in that high of nitrate systems and they said many factors take play. I could be wrong on that who knows hopefully sumone chims n but i don't got time to be a scientist im just a hobbyist passing along what i think i know

Out of curiosity, how did you reduce your Nitrate @tommyhere ?

And how did you maintain it at 5 ppm?

But yeah my 75 reef tank is 2 years old i have about 130 pounds of rock and i got some rare chalice s and acans and a but load of stuff. But wene nopox didn't work i did a bunch of stuff different. I got rid of my 3 biggest fish tangs put 3 inches of new sand ( not live) and i had over 200 ponds of rock then, got rid of about 60 pounds to a friend got an extra power head, sat up my rocks where water passes threw easy and here is the big one

And this goes against what everyone says but u can look up youtube videos on people doing bigger water changes. But i vacuum my sand bed and do a 40 gallon water change, with all my rock and fish and coral i have maybe 65 gallons of water total n my tank that leaves my 75 with about 15 g of water left in it ever change

Bigger WC means nothing to me .. I've tried that and Nitrate still present at 40 ppm, which means something is still leeching inside the system.

I've done 50% WC.

But to get them down big time i did 40 g wc twice in a weeks time.and now ever month 40 gal

Check your water before u mix with salt. For nitrates

Wene i first started reefing i had a 36 bow aquaeon and the nitrate s were at 160. And i keep coral jam pack in that thing with no deaths what so ever lps love nitrates

Dont be scared to do a huge wc. If my nitrate s went up to 160 again i would not hesitate to do a 90 percent wc. But let your new saltwater set a whole 24 hours to get it good and disolved
