I will say that the biopellets tumbling in my reactor are louder then the pump running. My drain is dead silent on my tank as I'm using a bean animal style.

That's GREAT news!

Lol, what is a bean animal style?? :what:

This is my manifold. Haven't actually run it with media in the reactors. I finally got my scape done so by the end of the week I hope to have it all running.

Looks good :D my reactors are built different so I cant hang them like you did. I'm going to have a lot of room so I think I'm going to make a hanger for them.

Beananimal is the guy that designed the Silent Failsafe overflow. It employs 3 drains, one full siphon, one secondary vented siphon, and a third emergency drain. It is designed to be used with a coast to coast overflow. It is designed to have maximum surface skimming and is capable of high flow rates. I can easily run mine at 1200gph albeit I lose the silence at that point. I push about 700gph with my setup. One of the big advantages that I like is I have virtually no salt creep.

I really wanted to put 24" coast to coast on my 180 but can't due to where my returns will come in. I could but then I would lose my fail-safes for back syphon in case of power failure. I have check valves but I don't trust check valves 100 percent.

Sorry for the delayed response. I've been busy preparing for my daughters HS graduation ceremony and party of 60+ guests. I haven't had time to test it yet. Sunday I plan to though. I will say I wasn't fond of their packaging. I ordered from fish-street as they had the best prices on this pump as well as the wp40 (I need 2 for the 180) plus I could order an extension cable for the wp40. I needed one because the one that comes with it is too short to the controller so I can place it on the wall. From pump, to canopy top, down the length of the canopy to the wall is almost 9'. I think they should've made them long enough in the first place. A 6' long tank with canopies are common in peninsulas.
Anyway the extension cord ships from hong cong and the pumps shipped from their NJ warehouse (I liked this). When the box arrived via UPS it was huge, I opened it to see 2 small boxes in the bottom 3rd of the box. No bubble wrap or stuffing of any kind :(

The screw on ring for the return adapter was cracked. They are sending a new one. These 2 pumps HAD to have bounced around pretty good with no stuffing so a water test is a MUST on Sunday.

Yep when I got my 2 wp25s I wasn't real impressed with the packaging. Unfortunately yours is not the first I have heard of damaged pumps.

Going to test both the mag 18 and the DC12000 right now. Trying to make this as fair as possible. Both are about about the same height and both have about the same output diameter. Let's see how it goes. I'll post a vid after I'm done.

I did have the mag 18 running with no reactor hooked up first. It worked great but wanted to add flow for feed line to my reactor. The dc12000 was only able to run at half power or tank would over flow. Now that said the mag 18 had 3/4 hard line and the DC12000 has 1" with 3 splinters one to return wide open, 1 to reef octopus 140 biopellet reactor about 1/2 open, and last one for any extra reactors I may add. While I'm running the reactor I have to have the dc12000 at full power or one click from full power just to keep pellets tumbling right and keep water up in the tank. I'm pretty sure I have enough power left to run a carbon reactor if needed. But would have to run at 100% full time.

What size tank do you have?

125g mixed reef peninsula

Trying to upload the vid to YouTube but it's not happening.

Ok that sucks... How about a play by play write up, what did you think of it? Is it a contender?
