twilliard, I've used your method in the past to treat the tank and it worked great. I have a single rock with a few heads of colonial hydroids. I can remove the rock and want to use the Super Strength dip method. Just wondering since I'll be dipping, how long to leave in the dip and should I rinse rock before returning to tank. Thank you.

10 minutes will do just fine. Yes rinse the rock well to minimize the introduction of fenbenz to the tank.

Curious. And sorry if I missed it....has there been any documented negative impact on Bristle Worms? I have several large ones in my Fuge and would hate to kill them if I was to go this route

Thanks so much....if I go this route I will probably be doing the dip and rinse method. Seems to be the safest if you have a bunch of hiding inverts

With a good rinse this is the best way to approach this

Well after 5 hours, it appears the the heads have all closed up. I will get a pic after my lights come on. It's looks promising so far.

I started this treatment for blue clove polyps last Thursday night tonight I only have a few white specks left. Starry Blenny and orange shoulder tang are eating them nonstop. They should all be gone tomorrow night. You can see what I started with. I havent noticed any issues with any sps and zoas are starting to open back up. I have a blue ridge thats lost some color. hopefully I dont loose it. I took some of my sps and all lps out for now. Didn't bother any blue leg hermits or peppermint shrimp. I used one packet of safeguard with 1 gallon of rodi. I ended up using about 3/4 of that gallon on a 90 with 20 gallon sump. I was too nervous to use whole gallon. I started with half a gallon then added 1/4 gallon the next day.

All corals look fine and the few snails that I have seem to be ok. There are some hydroids still open but I would say 90% are closed up still. I used 5 scoops using the Red sea test kit spoon for my 50 gallon volume. We'll see how it looks in the morning.

Fenbendazole has many uses as long as rules are followed. Fenbendazole is one of the first steps to be pest FREE. When I first started this research it was from scratch, literally. Back when the company stopped production of interceptor I had to find other solutions.

There are MANY threads throughout the years posted online about hydroids and frustration.
The key was to find something that had little collateral damage to our tanks. A LOT of trial and error and yes I had deaths and surprising survivals.

Bottom line is that it work and awareness must be had about the risk of invert and coral death I have listed in this thread.

My 30 hours is up and appears that I may need to do another treatment as I still see some open. I did the treatment before my lights were completely on and maybe the heads were not out. I will do the next treatment later in my light cycle and will make sure the hydroid heads are open. With that being said, I still believe the treatment was a huge success as 90% are gone. Thanks again for the help. Should I wait a day or two before 2nd treatment?

Ya that is the problem about catching all these guys, they have to be out and hungry.
I would do a water change and treat after that.

One thing to add to the thread is that after 3 weeks of treament and all the water changes, I am still unable to keep a single snail alive. Yes.. i did run carbon and I have done multiple 50 percent water changes.

I will wait and treat tomorrow around 3 so I don't have to do a water change at 11pm. The few snails that I have are still alive, I moved my conch and urchin to another tank prior to treatment. I will update after my second round.
