Here it is! Fenbendazole use against hydroids

I would question the calibration of your scale or the scale you are using.
Did you zero out the the holding container?
Too dark in the house to fire up the lab yet lol

I did zero out the scale before use - I am using the following scale. It's a Gemini.

I actually called Thomas Labs yesterday, the manufacturer of the bendazole. After talking with their technical staffed, they confirmed it was 250mg of active fenbendazole with other additives mixed in. According to their calculations, to dose 90mg of active, I would need to dose approximately 640mg of the entire packet.

It's easy to find out how much excipients are included
Measure the powder weight and anything over the 250mg is your excipients
Looks like they bought out the company I used.

The product came in the packets as a pure uniform white powder - not sure I can separate the excipients. In any case, it's a little late as I dosed the 640mg... I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed and see if it works. I'll be doing the water change today.

If it doesn't work, I'll order from the link you provided. Lol, I feel misled as the amazon product description calls it pure fenbendazole. According to the company, the excipient is a harmless cellulose product.

Twilliard my pure fenbendazole should be arriving today. If I pull a large rock from my main display and treat with fenbendazole in a 5 gallon bucket what would be the best method to do this? Also after treatment if I rinse rock well and put back into display will it still kill snails and starfish? Thanks

starting my treatment today 70 gallon system totally covered with hydroids and a bunch of aptasia treated with 110 mg pure fish fenbendazole emptied my reactors and are running those empty, cleaned my protein skimmer and put air hose underwater restarted that also, removed filter sock and appropriate livestock, so far so good nothing is freaking out will definitely keep everyone posted as to my results @twilliard

30 hours later no hydroids in the tank whatsoever, just completed 20 gallon water change, fire it up GFO&Rox carbon in my dual reactor , started air flow to the skimmer and put my filter sock back . Many thanks to @twilliard and everyone who posted. Todd what is my next move??? Any good tips for getting rid of aptasia??? Lol it's always something.

Keep changing water and blow the rocks out.
This will shorten the time to be able to introduce snails
Aiptasia, I use superglue if I get one.

Just treated my main display today. Only after a few hours the hydroids are starting to shrivel up. I'm so excited to rid my tank of the @#$&* suckers. Got my water change water churning as we speak. Twilliard I can't thank you enough for this tutorial. The two large rocks, I bucket treated had so many hydroids on them the remaining tubes look like hair. Plucking them off with hemostats. I've been living with these things for several years now. So glad I came across this post.

If you can change water twice a week without interrupting the chemistry that's what I would do. Do this for a good month

I just finished out my treatment and have been doing regular water changes. My question is, when can I add berghia nudibranches? I also have a dozen or so aiptasia I'd like to get rid of and I wondering if the leftover treatment in the water will kill the berghia?

If it's a risk, I'll just throw 2 peppermints in there. I already have a copperband, but he's young and wasn't bought with the goal of eliminating aiptasia.

Overall, not too bad. Snails are still sluggish, so a couple more might succumb. I'm ok with that.

Scuba, I did the full 30 hour duration. Same as you, I just wanted to be sure.

at about 20 hrs ....but went for the full30 hrs

Two hours left before water change. I'm going for the full 30 hours. I have maybe a 1/2 a dozen or so hydroids left just barely poking out the heads. I hope this is normal. I'd hate to leave a few. As you know they spread like crazy. If they remain what is the recommended wait time before trying a second treatment?
