Hey new here from North Carolina

Well tested again this morning and still the same results. Not really sure what's going. The brown diatoms are still spreading slowly.

Never really seen a huge ammonia or nitrite spike but my nitrates are still elevated and the ammonia isnt at 0. Its like my tank is wanting to cycle or never fully cycled.

Could my first cycle been a mini cycle? And now the bug cycle has stalled. Have not done no water changes. All I've done is topped of the tank and I use Stability.

Fish are still in quarantine.

I see a big difference from your previous test to this test and from what the API test here shows is that of a cycled tank. Are you continuing the bacteria boost?

Maybe a little ghost feed test to see if the bacteria 'digests' without a spike?

Yea still boosting. Will ghost feed this evening

Wait a few more days until all ammonia is converted into nitrate.
Meanwhile, remember that free ammonia is much more toxic than ammonium ion.
The API test apparently shows the total ammonia (NH3 & NH4+).

Ok tested again with both api and red seas. Ghost feed this morning.
Still dosing with Stability.
Readings for Api are
Ammonia .25
Nitrite 0
Nitrate .1
All in ppm

Red seas

Ammonia. 2
Nitrite .0
Nitrate .1
All in ppm

The brown diatoms dont look any worse or any better. Lights has been off for a couple of days now

Better pics of what I believe to be brown diatoms. Possibly something else?

Tested testers evening light had been off. Still dosing with stability and my levels all still are the same as the past 2 days. I will post a pic of my numbers when I get back home today from where I've been writing everything down.

Anyone able to tell me what this is?

Ok guys so far all my water parameters have been solid but I havent seen my royal gramma in a few days andIm starting to worry that he may of died. Thinking the stress of moving back to the dt from the qt may have been to much. Even tho both tanks water parameters were identical. I'm going to wait till Monday and see if he comes out before I take out the rock I last seen him hiding in and try to remove him. If he is alive should I get a hang on acclimation tank to place him in to monitor him for a while or should I put him back in the qt.

Also my brown diatoms have stopped growing on the and but some of my dead rock is still having some diatom growth. Should I leave it alone of should I dose hydrogen peroxide ar 1ml per gal?

Also I've been thinking about getting another clown. But mine is still so small I scared of introducing another clown to the tank. I've always heard to get a smaller clown than the one I have in order to keep them from fighting till one dies. I'd say my current clown is maybe 1 inch if that.

Guess Monday when I do a water change I'm going to pull the last piece of "live rock" out I hate to do it because it has a good colony of feather dusters on it but I'm tired of the feather dusters breaking off plus I've noticed some aptisia on the rock as well. So I guess better to throw it out than rick my whole tank. I've thought about using some other methods of killing the aptisia but with so many mixed reviews and me not wanting it to spread i feel like this is the best option.

Well I did a water change and now I got green hair algea good signs. Sorry for the crap photo. Limited to cell phone pics.
