Hi my name is Saurav, I just started my 80 rimless tank with a trigger ruby sump. previously had a 46 bow front with hob refugium. I'm loving the bigger tank. I joined the forums because every time I googled an issue it looked like R2R was my answer and sounds like people are very friendly.

I still have to Put algae in my refugium what do you guys think is better the Green Grape Caulerpa
or the chaeto algae ? and what light do you guys recommend ? how long do u run the light ?

Thanks in advance, Happy Reefing

Saurav

Both types of algae work great. I'm more of a chaeto guy. As far as lighting there is a wide variety to choose from. Amazon has grow lights for 50 to 100 bucks. Or there's the top of the line Kessil H380 for 300. As far as lighting period, most people will do 12 to 14 hours opposite of the display tank.

thank you I will check out amazon

Howdy from Texas! I would suggest chaeto. The calerupa can do weird stuff on you. If you go to the algae barn, there is some good reading.
There is a debate on the light. I've got a 60w Lowe's grow light . They'll do fine. You can find light from $20 - 300. What ever way you want to fly.
I would run the light opposite of your display tank light.
