How do u support ur hobby?

I give enemas to sand filters. I'm a life support tech at a public aquarium. I work graveyard shift so alot of my time is spent backwashing the sand filters on the big systems. Ill bet my water changes are bigger than yours.;)

I'm a Corrections Officer doing a 20 year sentence on the installment plan. 10 down 10 to go. Tank money requires me to work overtime.
Former Deputy myself. We both know you are working OT just to cover the basics.

I’m a corporate pilot on the Gulfstream G550. Fun gig and keeps me home most nights.

My father was a maintenance buyer/planner for Learjet since it was Canadair, 27 years... out of Bradley Int'l. (Hartford)

Used to love going in with him on Saturday OT and walk through the private jets.. Got to bounce around and impersonate the undertaker on Vince McMahons one time! Haha.

By driving a garbage car w/ 200,000 miles on it when I should be having a midlife crisis moment and buying a sports car!

See, it's ALL about tradeoffs. My 200,000 car just died, so I'm having to deal with a new one ..... 'what is that funny smell?' College tuition ........

Ha! I see Vince McMahons airplane all the time. We’re out of the same hangar there in NY!

Manufacturing/Supply Chain guy here ...... going on 35 years. 25 in industry, now 10 as a market researcher.

Do you miss being down in and around operations? Or you happy to be out of the buzz?

Mixed. I actually run the supply chain practice at a big research house, so I still get my 'fix' by going to lots of different client factories, warehouses, etc. Lots of really cool tech these days (probably why I'm such a gear-head with my reef tank). Plus I really enjoy writing, and get to do more of that now.

Good thread!!!

Well I got bad news from the doctor so my wife made me an offer i couldn't refuse. give up the wine and set up the tank you always wanted. I think i'm actually saving money now!

Actually working on the "new projects" department of an investment company settled in Dominican Republic. Soon will be focused on international sales and I'm planning to bring those big brands of aquarium-related products to Dominican Republic. Not a huge experience, just 22 years old...
