I love it! I have one on my 120g and one on my 30g frag tank. Clean the sensors once every two or three months.

I am going to be upgrading my 30 to a 90 gallon w/ 40breeder sump here soon. I may try to see if that's the problem however I am going to be getting a new ato unit. The tunze osmulator eventually. But my 30 I will have as a frag tank. So I will find out sooner or later

Love it, works great never failed doing its job yet.....

The JBJ ATO Has been nothing but junk, problems after problems.......

I've been using a SmartATO for 6months and it has been awesome.

Only "appology" is I've had the alarm go off a couple of times when nothing was wrong. Maybe 3 times in 6 months. I unplug it, plug it back in, and it resets fine.

Regarding feeding, I've got it plugged into APEX that turns it off/on during feeding :)

Ya I've had it not fill up when it should of them the alarm goes off when nothing is wrong. It kept going off so I pulled the pump out took it apart didn't do anything to it. Put it back Together and it worked like it should of

You may have had a small bit of algae on the impeller that wasn't letting it spin. If pulling it apart and putting it back together fixed it, then I'm betting something was inhibiting the propeller (which would set off the alarm). Had you cleaned it regularly?

Normally I just clean the sensor lens and then the area of glass on the tank. That was the first time I did anything with the pump.

My smart ATO has worked pretty well so far. I like that it fills so quickly. I also likes that it beeps at me when I need to add water

I have been running mine for about 10-11 months. I had pre-ordered mine in November of 2013. I can honestly tell you that my water level in my sump is dead on. Made tuning my Diablo skimmer a piece of cake. Coral Vue customer service is top notch also. I did months of research and it cam down to this and the tunze. I opted for this just because of the size. I read some negatives on the tunze pump as well. Not saying it is bad by any means but wanted a little stronger pump. The pump is literally about as big around as a quarter wide and about an inch tall. Imagine the total pump about the size of a quarters standing ext to it. It also has a two year warranty which was a selling point for me. I posted some pictures of the pump front and back as well as the control with a quarter fr size comparison. The third picture down shows that I have limited room to fit it between the sump and when the door of the cabinet is closed. Please excuse the dirty hands. I was actually gluing together my new pvc salt water mixing station.

You can also see how it has helped my skimmer run at its best. You really don't think about the fluctuation of the water level until you get an ATO and really see how great they are. I am unsure why the picture is side ways. Took it straight up and down but for some reason it turns it when uploaded.

Questions: I've had my Smart ATO connected for 5 days. Every night at midnight the alarm goes off. All three lights are flashing fast. If I up plug it and plug it back in it keeps doing it. If I leave it unplugged until the morning and plug it in, it works fine. I've checked the alignment. Anyone else have this issue? Really don't like being woken every night by this thing.

I would suggest that you make sure the area where the sensor us located on your glass or acrylic tank is clean. If there is residue on the area from salt that could give you a false alarm and make sure that your pump is cleaned and working properly.

I had the same thing happen to me the return pump was barely flowing and I would get residue on the glass which would cause my ato to go crazy. Alarm after alarm day after day. I finally took the time to eliminate what it could be.
