How many "Fish per Gallon" do you have?

IMHO the "flow" caused by the fish would have very little impact on how the corals would ingest nutrients from the water column or remove waste, in the ocean or in a tank. While the amount of fish and the waste they produce has a direct effect on how our systems operate, the amount of fish would have very little impact on how the corals feed and expel waste.

That being said I try to stick to 1 fish per ten gallons of tank volume.

Perhaps, but looking back at the video in my original post, I'm still curious how schools of fish hovering around or within inches of corals impacts nutrient intake to waste expulsion.

I don't have my tank fully stocked yet, but once I get everything I want it will be .05 per gallon.

It's a 210 display and I plan on adding
3 anthias
2 clownfish
4 tangs
2 triggers

I might add a few more smaller fish to the mix eventually, but I like to keep a more lightly stocked tank so my maintenance is that much easier and it gives the fish I do have lots of space to live a happy life!

I guess it's about .05 but 18.333 gallons per fish.

i have a total of 80 fish give or take a few in my system i have four tanks all plummed together..40 in my 200g...10 in my sump 2 file fish and trigger and some damsels to keep my sump free of pests..20 in my 250g flat..and 10-20 in my 2 x 40g breeders as a clean up crew

Chalk bass and Midas Blenny are both great choices. I have 10 Chalk Bass in my reef and 1 Midas Blenny. The bass are skittish until food comes out but the Blenny is very active.

11fish in y 50g...which is why I upgraded to a 150g and they will all be moving over this weekend!
Jawfish, shrimpgby, 2 Lamarcks angels, 1bangaii cardinal, chalk basslet, Midas Blenny, some kind of algae eating Blenny, 2percula clowns and 1 tomato clown...
In the 150 I have 3 fish just added this week, a tiny YB blue hippo, a flasher wrasses and a lawnmower blenny

That is a total of 28 fish in 420 gallons. .067. I am going to add some more fish next week but they are all small.

I think a scale for points would be a better statistic to use than total fish. 20 chromis probably add the same amount of wast to a tank as one full grown Sailfin Tang. If the chromis were assigned .5 points per fish and the Sailfin has 10 points then that would be equal. Just something to consider.

Do the bass school, or just tolerate each other? Now I'm curious XD I've been liking the idea of finding a small schooling fish lately.
