How much do you spend in electricity?

My tank is in the basement. and the space is about 1000 sq ft. Before the tank, I did not have to heat the basement. Now, I heated with 30,000BTU heat pump and it adds about 300$ to the bill. My total December electricity bill was ludicrous!
In a way, I'm having second thought on finishing the basement and put the tank down there. But it is what it is now.

I have a similar but less extreme problem..

My tank is also in the basement and it is significantly cooler down there than the rest of the house. My 500w of heaters run a lot. Probably 80% of the time which is extremely pricy.

I have opened vents to the basement to increase temp. Hasn't done much. Logging the results in Apex for now

My 750 is in thebasement too. Has 2 1000 watt heaters but the back of the tank room shares the same room as my 2 large furnaces. The heaters run much less in the winter than the summer. I keep my entire home at 72 in the winter including the basement. My total conditioned square footage is 5100 and my combined bill for gas and electric this past FRIGID month was $510.00 Invest in some energy efficiency upgrades and it will pay off. I still have 80% efficiency furnaces too. When they depart I will do at least 95% furnaces. I really am thinking of doing the water heater loop to heat the tank but am not sold on it yet.

About $35 a month for my 72g I went with all DC pumps and LED light.

In California we pay through the roof.

Average about $250 on my tank alone for a 210 display average monthly bill with everything else is about $350

Oh I have solar to but small a system 3.5kw system

I also have a small 70 gallon as well. The tier pricing is crazy with PGE.

For my 220 i spend about 60$ more a month. 5.5 cents per kilowatt hour in canada grande prairie. My gas/electric is roughly 400 a month on average. Water is 65$

Your Electric Company must love you. Water isn't too bad, I was expecting it to be higher

I've had friends make comments on the fact that my water is 'free'... Yeah, but when I had to replace my well pump last year, that was 2 grand. If you figure repair and maintenance costs over time, those monthly water and sewage bills start looking pretty good. Living in the woods has many advantages... inexpensive isn't necessarily one of them!

Well said- I am about 18 months on my new well pump that was $2500 and now city water is at either end of my street- can’t stop progress and zoning doesn’t allow both- I plan to disconnect well and for inspection and reconnect for tank and pool/ spa use only-

I have a large house though if I had to covert to ft I'd say roughly 5500sq feet. Pool, ducted air con. Mind you I rarely hang clothes out always use the dryer. And my power bills are roughly 1600-2000 a quarter.

We do power on the quarter so every 3months

Actually all our rates are on the quarter water, council rates.
