How'd often do you clean algae of your glass?

My tank is doing well, but I keep getting algae on my glass. I clean it just about daily, is that normal?

I would say it depends on the individual setup. I clean my glass every couple of days.

My tank is acrylic .... I clean it weekly. One of the biggest issues I see is that people over light their tanks and spend $$ illuminating and then cleaning the front pane. I setup the lighting on my tank to not shine on the very front area of the tank, plus I have blanking panels on the top of my tank that completely shade the front - thus I get minimal algae growth there.

Interesting. Blanking panels? This is a panel of wood at the front of your tank on top. Does this type of thing really work? Very interesting. Thanks for posting!

It's not wood; pink foam board in the picture actually; although I subsequently replaced it with black PVC foam board - more aesthetically appealing. Sure it works - a bit of light hits the very bottom of the front, but that's about it. I'm surprised more people don't do this. Acrylic is not as forgiving as glass so my goal was to inhibit growth on the front and minimize cleaning. As noted, I run my mighty magnet cleaner over the front weekly. I'll post a more recent picture.

I clean about every 3 days or so.

My problem is that my tank gets a lot of natural sun light
