Hydroids

If this is a newer system, they normally don't last very long, month or two and then gone... they might come back from time to time but on a well established system you don't see them very often.

Digitate hydroids???

Ya his problem are Digitate hydroids.
Through my years of studying these guys is that nothing will touch them. They multiply like weeds. They are closely related to the jelly fish.
And NASTY stingers
I had a massive outbreak of Digitate hydroids years ago and that is what prompted me to start studying aquarium pests and feasible tank friendly solutions.

I've never needed to eradicate them, they're few in numbers in all my tanks but have read ppl used a turkey baster and very hot RO/DI water, use just enough of the water to do the job.

Yes when there are just a few I never recommend my method and what you have stated is absolutely feasible! Thank you for adding this information :-)

I know there is a chemical treatment per @twilliard . I have a lot of snails, shrimp, conchs, starfish etc...that Im worried about killing. I have a QT tank that I was treating my remaining fish. I have not used any copper in there for weeks and have done many water changes.

You are in a tough situation for sure
Here is the thing about Digitate hydroids.
In mass numbers they will happily plant themselves on any coarse form of shells.
These guys live in every nook and cranny possible.
I feel for you for sure. Its aa tough choice to make.

I totally believe my 6 Line Wrasse completely cleaned my tank of Digitate Hydroids. There's no other explanation for their disappearance. Before the Wrasse I had 10-15 of them. After adding the Wrasse, today I have none.

Nothing eats them.
If there was something that did my research would have been done long ago
Hmm just began my research and looks like all the articles say they eat them and there pics on yahoo of them eating them so very curious on your research on them not working thanks
