Ok some white stuff defiantly came from his mouth/gill area, and saw more when I added him back into the tank.

Flukes?
flukes arn't fluffy like that. Not sure what it is though. @Humblefish any ideas?

Is it possible it's just food? I did see a lot of yellowish stuff coming from his mouth, is that the mucus?

I think I see the flukes now, white elongated worm of some kind. There are on the side of the bucket

Can I use this with copper, some say that I can but I want your thoughts.

Seems safe from my readings. So I'm going to add it. Wish me luck!

My Naso seems to be breathing hard still, possibly more so now. Should I do another FW dip?

Sorry sweetie. I went to bed and then had work today. This is what flukes look like:

You can indeed combine prazi with copper... just be careful with it as it can cause a bacterial bloom that will suck O2 out of the water. I'm not sure what you're seeing come out of his mouth there. Can you get a video? Is it still happening?

I'll do another dip in a few hours and get a video.

I have an air stone going for O2.

Parizopro is only effective for 3 days, do I redose on the 4th day, wait a few days? I saw that a second dose is needed. Please advise.

When I saw the Naso today his mounts was wide open and breathing very heavy, maybe more so than yesterday.

Are the flukes the round shaped white things there?

Prazi is only active in the water for 48 hours. It does it's thing within the first 24 hours. You can do the water change as soon as 24 hours after dosing, but you are waiting 5-7 days to add the second dose so the fluke eggs have time to hatch but not to lay new eggs.

The mouth being open and heavy breathing can be a symptom of flukes, but I wish I could see it. He's doing this after you did the first dose of prazi?

Yes they are. They kind of look like flat, almost clear sesame seeds.

I'm just catching up now (long day). Did the "thing" below come off during the FW dip or was it just floating around in the QT?

Came off in the dip, there was another like it still in the bucket. Could have been some food I guess. The picture was taken of a piece that was caught in the net and placed in the QT with the fish.

Just completed a 5 minute FW dip. Don't see anything come out this time. I've heard that when tangs especially the Naso keep their mouth open like that it was a real bad sign.

Help!!!!

The Naso really is not looking good!

This looks like infection setting in and quickly. I dont now if you can fix it, but get him into a new tank and load it up with Kanaplex, furan2 and metroplex all at once. Lots of oxygen. Lots of hope. Unless @Humblefish has another plan.

+1 Only other option would be Nitrofuracin Green Powder; but this fish would be dead before you could receive it in the mail. :(

A 90 minute acriflavine bath (exs. Acriflavine-MS, Ruby Reef Rally) might slow the infection down until the antibiotics can kick in.

My wife used the last of the Metro 100g bottle we had. I don't have Kanaplex either. What about iodine?

I do have ICH-X

you need antibiotics. Neither of those will do anything for him that I know of. What else do you have in your medicine cabinet? You can list everything if you'd like and maybe there's something you can use to help him until tomorrow when the stores open.

The Naso did not make it through the night.

This has been the most heart breaking and frustrating months I have ever had keeping fish. I have been keeping fish for a long time and this is just bad. I lost thee tangs I planned to add to the display all together. Now only the blue is left. When I did hypo i did that this many issues. All the fish did well. Even if I did have antibiotics, it progressed from heavy breathing to dier in 24hours. He may not have had flukes, just a gill infection. My first FWD I did see yellow mucus type stuff for sure come from his mouth gill area directly. In the future I suppose I'll only add and QT one at a time.
