i don't want to disagree w him,but them snails dying are like sewage i''m sure you smelt that when taking out ,look good make sure you got all of them,how does the water smell ,seriously

Water doesn’t stink and they didn’t small either. We’re just like hanging out of their shells like that picture. I also did a 50% change already.

If you are using seachem prime you need to continue to dose it ever 48 hours at a minimum, preferably every 24 hours.

It works by binding up the ammonia and nitrite temporarily. It does not remove them from the tank.

Because of this, your levels will not drop when you use it, it just makes it temporarily non-toxic. The effect from the prime only works for about 48 hours so if you don't continue to dose it then all of the ammonia will become toxic again.

The good news is the the nitrogen cycle still works on the ammonia and nitrite after it's been bound up, so you can just keep dosing prime daily until you see the levels get back to normal.

Weird part is it only killed the turbos. The Nassarius snails are fine.

Checked this morning and ammonia is saying zero. Nitrites are 0 and nitrates are 7.5. Still all closed up. Weird that the fish seem fine and the corals won’t open.

At this point I’m wondering if it’s not something to do with this new pump. Literally every time I have
Have added water for a water change it closes them all up again. I just added water. Not even a gallon. The only thing that was open is closed up. All three times this has been after a I added salt water from this system. Could the pump be the issue? I cleaned it before I used it?

yes that pump is a sump pump who knows what can be leaching,seal will not hold in saltwater ,dump the pump ,probaly some type of grease leaching hard to just wash off grease!! sorry to say but besides the salt burn i think you found your prob ,hope others will chime in on this ,

I soaked it and cleaned it before I used it. Is there any other pump that would work?
