I have a rodi 5 stage system and use tropic marine salt. What type water did you use ?
Dis you dechlorinate it ?
Does your water have chloramines?
Have you changed filters lately or are they new.I have a rodi 5 stage system and use tropic marine salt.
I pray you have better luck than I did. With the exception of a small GSP, I lost them allI live in Kansas City, MO and we have really crappy water so they use chloramines. That’s why I have the upgraded kit with 5. One cartridge is purposely there to remove them. I have tested the water and there is none showing. Also at 0 TDS.
Most have opened back up. Only two zoas are still closed.I pray you have better luck than I did. With the exception of a small GSP, I lost them all
Think I’m about done. This hobby is just not for me. I’m spending thousands and thousands on something that’s just not working. Maybe this is for some people, but I’m starting to get to the point I feel like I’m just flushing money down the toilet.... literallytomorrow
first message quote "everything looked amazing" and will again and the chiefs won of courseI have a 32G biocube that has been running since October. I have been happy with the corals and everything has looked amazing. I did a water change today with the same system I have been using and the corals instantly all closed up. I checked my salinity in the brute and it was spot on. It’s a closed system with pumps in the brute cans and pex-a running the water all the way there. The only thing that was abnormal was the water was lower then normal in the overflow and when I turned the pump on it created a huge amount of air bubbles in the tank. Can this make them close up? Nothing else has changed.

Just always something with this tank. I had brook and lost all my fish a month in. Had to leave it empty for 6 weeks. Now this. Just like an ongoing f.m.l. All the while I just keep putting money into it. When do people consider a tank stable? We’ve all been here.. I haven’t seen it mentioned, but your tank has only been running since October, give it time to mature.. be patient, and in a few more months it will be stable and you’ll gain confidence.. it s much harder to move fast and hope everything flourishes, but the reality is that your tank needs time to thrive.. sorry for everything you’re going through, like I said, we’ve all been there, here to help.
My fish guy told me the salt will kill the bacteria too. Could that be why the ammonia is spiking?i think you were stable ,the stray salt crystals burned everything they will come back
