Ahh ok that's where I was getting confused. Well thanks for the clarification. But if I may ask why does it reset the clock on the DT and not the QT? Since they're both fish less it confuses me..

If you add a coral to your DT a week before you add fish, it could have ich encysted on it that hatch and infect your fish.

If you add coral to a QT that has other coral in it, the ich may hatch, but it has nothing to feed on so it will not encyst on a different coral in the tank. As long as you leave the water behind you are good to go.

Ok yeah after this question popped up in my head my dad explained it some to me and you did too just now so I completely understand now. So thanks! I guess for now ill just have to hold off on buying anything and wait for a new QT tank to add new corals to..
